Pretty In Pink Textured Notes

When I saw the Textured Notes bundle and coordinating Woven Textures DSP, I saw it as mostly neutral tones and more masculine-looking designs. In fact, I’ve designed a masculine birthday card using these products, which I’ve already posted on this blog. I challenged myself to make a card that was more feminine looking, so I used Pretty in Pink cardstock and ink and white cardstock. I think it did turn out super feminine looking. What do you think?

If you’d like to recreate this card, here’s how:
  • The card base is Basic White, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock at 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″,  crop with the large Textured Notes die, and adhere to the card front.
  • Crop a 4 1/2″ x 3″ piece of Basic White cardstock and crop with the Textured Notes die.
  • Use Pretty in Pink ink to stamp the small leaf image twice toward the right top and twice to the left bottom of this piece with the stems pointed toward the center. Ink the stamp again, stamp off once on scrap paper, then stamp the image toward the left side at the top. Repeat and stamp toward the right bottom. Adhere this piece to the card front.
  • Use Pretty in Pink ink to stamp the greeting from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set onto a 3″ x 2″ piece of Basic White cardstock, then crop with the small label die from the Thoughtful Expressions bundle. Adhere to the card front with dimensionals.

For the inside:
  • Adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock to the inside of the card.
  • Use the large die from the Textured Notes bundle to crop a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. If desired, stamp a sentiment on this piece, or leave blank to write your own message.  Adhere to the inside of the card.

Textured Notes Masculine Birthday Card

Looking for a more masculine-looking birthday card? Look no further than the beautiful Woven Textures DSP. There are great designs in neutral colors that are perfect for “guy” cards. This card features the DSP as well as the Textured Notes bundle.

Here’s how to recreate this card:
  • Cut a piece of Woven Textures DSP at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and adhere to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base made from Pecan Pie cardstock which has been scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Cut three pieces of Early Espresso cardstock and crop with the die from the Textured Notes bundle. Cut three pieces of coordinating DSP measuring 3 7/8″ x 1 3/8″ and adhere to the Early Espresso pieces. Equally space these on top of the card front and glue in place. Refer to photo for placement.
  • Cut a piece of Basic Beige cardstock measuring 2 1/2″ x 5/8″. Stamp the textured image using Crumb Cake ink onto this piece several times until it’s covered, then stamp the greeting with Early Espresso ink. For my card I used a Happy Birthday greeting from the Magnolia Mood stamp set, but of course you can use whatever greeting you prefer. Layer this onto a 2 5/8″ x 3/4″ piece of Early Espresso, then use dimensionals to adhere to the card front.
  • Stamp the large leafy image twice onto a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. Fussy cut the leaves then glue onto the cardfront – refer to photo for placement.
  • If desired, place a few brown sequins from the Neutral Sequins pack onto the card front.

For the inside of the card:
  • Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the sentiment onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock. This card has a sentiment form the Textured Notes stamp set.
  • Cut a 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of the DSP used for the card front and adhere it to a 4 1/4″ x 5/8″  piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Adhere this strip onto the inside piece and trim the ends to match the cardstock.
  • Adhere the inside piece to the inside of the card.

FB Live Recap: Textured Notes Z-Fold Card

When I first saw the Textured Notes bundle and Woven Textures DSP, my first thought was, “Ooooh, how pretty!” So of course I purchased it, and it’s been sitting among my supplies just waiting to be used. For my video this week, I created this Z-fold card in Boho Blue and Crumb Cake and used the Woven Textures DSP. In April it will be moved to my YouTube channel.  Please subscribe to my channel so that I can begin doing my live videos on that platform – thank you!

Gold-embossing the images from the Memorable Blooms bundle really adds an extra measure of elegance. Year of Flowers – Happy Spring

Here’s a simple recipe for a card using the Year of Flowers bundle that can be adapted to use any three of the flowers you choose. For this card, I went with the Spring months flowers for a nice, bright card to say Happy Spring. The eyelet 3-D embossing folder makes a lovely background for the small flower panels.

  1. Make a card base with Basic White – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″.
  2. Layer onto the card base a piece of Season of Elegance DSP that measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  3. Cut a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock and emboss it with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder, then layer it onto a 5″ x 3 2/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Adhere this onto the card front.
  4. Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the three flowers onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock – you will need about 5 1/2″ x 3″. Crop the flowers using the label die from the Year of Flowers bundle.
  5. Color the flowers using Stampin Blends markers – Light & Dark Daffodil Delight for March, Light Lemon Lolly and Light Daffodil Delight for April, and Light Soft Sea Foam for May. The leaves and stems for all of the flowers use Light Shaded Spruce.
  6. Attach the flowers to the card front using dimensionals.
  7. If desired, apply Wink of Stella to the flowers for a little added glimmer
  8. Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the ‘Happy Spring’ greeting from the Storybook Friends stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Crop with the die from the Stylish Shapes set and attach to the card front with dimensionals.
  9. Crop a few of the leaf stems out of gold foil using the Year of Flowers dies and glue them in place with the ends under the greeting.
  10. Add a small adhesive brushed butterfly onto one of the flower panels.

  1. For the inside of the card, adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock to the inside of the card.
  2. Adhere a 5/8″ strip of Season of Elegance DSP to  the left side of a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp with a sentiment of your choice using Mossy Meadow ink. My sample used the sentiment form the Year of Flowers bundle. Adhere this to the inside of the card.

FB Live Recap: Spring Tulips with Mixed Florals

The Mixed Florals bundle is one of the new online exclusives and has lovely floral bouquets that can be watercolored for a beautiful effect. For my video this week, I embossed the tulip bouquet with gold and used the water painters to color it. I added some greenery using one of the dies from the bundle and a little ladybug for just a touch of whimsy. In one of my garden beds in my front yard, I have a couple of saucer pots that I actually planted tulip bulbs in last year – I used this as the inspiration for this card, and I love the way it turned out!
