Scary Cute Halloween Gnome

What do you get when you combine the Scary Cute Bundle with the Kindest Gnome Bundle? The cutest Halloween card! I had fun adding this sweet little gnome to the Scary Cute bundle to create this card. Using a couple of designer series papers for the background makes it even more special. Here are the directions if you’d like to make this card yourself.

  • For the card base,  fold a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock that has been scored at 4 1/4″
  • Layer onto the card front a 4″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Rustic Harvest DSP and a 4″ x 3″ piece of Metallic Shimmer Designer Series Paper. See photo for placement.
  • Crop a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the Scary Cute dies to make the tree silhouette frame. Crop a piece of Daffodil Delight with the Scary Cute die to make the background for the silhouette piece, then glue together.
  • Use Memento ink to stamp the little gnome from the Kindest Gnomes bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Color with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Light Smoky Slate, and SU 1000Natural Tones Stampin’Blends markers. Crop with the corresponding die and glue onto the yellow background of the silhouette piece. Use Dimensionals to attach this piece to the card front.
  • Crop the cat from a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. Add a small piece of Granny Apple Green to the back of the cat to show through for the eyes. Glue the cat to the lower right corner of the card front.
  • Crop the moon from a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock and glue in place – refer to photo.
  • Stamp the “Boo!” onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock with Memento ink and crop with the tiny oval die from the Kindest Gnome dies. Attach to card front with a mini-dimensional.

  • For the inside, Stamp the sentiment and bats from the Scary Cute stamp set onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Refer to photo. Adhere to the inside of the card.
  • Stamp the little bats with Memento ink onto the lower-left corner of the envelope

FB Live Recap: Kindest Gnomes Ideas

I made a quick Facebook Live video this week to show a few alternate ideas for the Kindest Gnomes bundle. This bundle is in the new holiday mini-catalog, and I think it’s geared a little more toward Christmas cards. Since I love the cute gnomes, I wanted to use them for more than just Christmas. I paired the set with the pumpkins from the Hello Harvest set as well as the DSP from both sets and also the free Saleabration Rings of Love DSP.

Since the Gnomes Dies crop some of the gnomes and mushroom houses from the DSP, it’s very quick and easy to make cute gnome cards/projects. Add flowers or pumpkins and you have seasonal cards as well.

For this card, I layered a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of DSP from the Ring of Love package onto a card base of Parakeet Party cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″.

I stamped the flower arrangement and the small flower from the Hello Harvest stamp set twice with Memento ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends markers. I saved one of the small flowers to put by the gnome’s hand and glued the rest to the card front.

Using the dies from the Gnomes Dies, I cropped one of the mushroom houses and the gnome with the braided hair from the Storybook Gnomes DSP, gluing the house to the card front and adding the gnome with dimensionals.

For a little more interest, I added a small dragonfly punched from Tahitian Tide DSP and topped it with a Glossy Dot.

The inside is a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock on which I stamped a small flower and added a sentiment. I colored the flower to match the flowers on the front. Also stamped and colored a small flower on the envelope.

For this Fall card, I layered a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock onto a card base of Very Vanilla cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored 4 1/4″, then I added a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of DSP from the Ring of Love package.

I used Pumpkin Pie cardstock to crop the pumpkin pieces using the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. Using Mossy Meadow cardstock, I cropped the stems and vines from the same die set. I attached these to the card front, one with glue, one with dimensionals.

For the gnome, I used Rustic Harvest DSP to crop the hat and body/shoes and Very Vanilla for the beard. I added a nose cropped from Petal Pink cardstock, then attached the gnome to the card front with dimensionals.

The “Hello” greeting is from the Hello Harvest stamp set and stamped with Mossy Meadow meadow, then cropped with the die from the Stylish Shapes die set and attached to the card front with dimensionals.

For the inside of this card, I used three of the small vines from the Rustic Pumpkin die set cropped from Mossy Meadow cardstock, and glued them to the left edge of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I layered this onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock then attached to the inside of the card.

This card uses a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Sunprints DSP layered onto a card base of Mossy Meadow cardstock that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4.”

I fussy cut a few of the leaves and a small pumpkin from the Rustic Harvest DSP and I again cropped a gnome and mushroom house from the Storybook Gnomes DSP. I attached the mushroom house and pumpkin to the card front, then added the gnome with dimensionals.

I stamped the greeting from the Hello Harvest stamp set with Memento ink and cropped it with the coordinating die, then attached it to the card front with dimensionals. I tucked the leaves I had fussy cut under the greeting and glued them in place.

For the inside of the card, I added a leaf from the Hello Harvest stamp set stamped with Mossy Meadow ink onto the lower-left corner of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, and stamped a sentiment with Memento ink, then attached it to the inside of the card. I also stamped a leaf onto the lower-left corner of the envelope.

The Kindest Gnomes Bundle, the Hello Harvest Bundle, and the coordinating DSPs will be available for purchase beginning in July. Here is a list of the other products I used for these cards:
