Tutorial: Beautiful Bouquet Double Point Fold

Using the ‘Double Point’ fun fold technique for this card makes it look elegant, but it’s quite simple to make! Once you make one card with this fun fold and see how fast it goes, I’m sure you’ll want to make more of them to keep on hand.

Cut Cardstock:
Assembly:

Using the 4″ x3″ piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut a scalloped oval using the largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals framelits and set aside.

Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp ‘Sending Love’ from the ‘Climbing Roses’ stamp set onto the 4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the largest oval from the ‘Stitched Shapes’ framelits. Snail onto the Blackberry Bliss scalloped oval and set aside.

Using the Sprig Punch punch, punch out two sprigs from the Mossy Meadow cardstock.

With a scrap of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, cut out two leaf stems using the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

Stamp four small flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Blushing Bride ink. Cut out the flowers with coordinating dies from the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

Arrange the flowers, leaves and sprigs around the oval greeting.

  • Cut one of the sprigs in half and adhere one piece with multipurpose glue near the top of the oval.
  • Glue the other sprig to the bottom left side of the oval.
  • Trim the stems off of the die cut leaves and glue in place, refer to photo of finished card for placement.
  • Snail two of the flowers at the bottom of the oval slightly overlapping the ends of the sprig and leaf.
  • Use a dimensional to adhere another flower  slightly overlapping the other two flowers at the bottom of the oval.
  • Use a dimensional to adhere the fourth flower at the top of the oval slightly overlapping the ends of the sprig and leaf. Refer to the photo of the cardfront for placement.
  • Place a large pearl on the center of each flower.
  • Use Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little glimmer.

Take a 4″x 3″piece of Share What You Love Designer Paper (DSP) which has been scored at 1″ along one of the 4″ sides. Fold the remaining two inches of this piece so that it meets in the center along the score line and forms a point at the top. Snail the folds down. Repeat with the second piece of DSP. The photo below shows what both sides should look like when you finish folding them.

Using multipurpose glue or Snail, adhere the DSP to the top and bottom of the 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, applying the adhesive to the one inch portion of the DSP that did not get folded.

Fold the points of the DSP over to the center of the Whisper White cardstockBurnish the folds with your Bone Folder so the folds are nice and crisp.

Place two dimensionals at the tip of the top point, then center the completed focal point oval to the dimensional, making sure the dimensionals do not show at the edge of the oval. Refer to finished card photo.

Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the sentiment onto the center of the Whisper White cardstock, making sure it does not show from behind the oval. If you have trouble determining this, place small pencil marks on the cardstock to the side of the oval when it is folded on top of it to use as guidelines to stamp the sentiment. I chose a sentiment from the ‘Special Celebrations’ stamp set as it is not very wide. Don’t forget to erase your pencil marks when you are done stamping.

ENVELOPE:

Keeping with my habit of decorating the lower left corner of the envelope, stamp the flower with Blushing Bride ink and stamp the tiny leaf several times with Pear Pizzazz ink.

Your beautiful card is now finished! Wasn’t that easy?  Whoever you send this card to will be impressed with its elegance, but you don’t have to tell them how quick and easy it was to make!
