Tutorial: Elegant Bloom and Grow

The intricate framing with the Ornate Layers dies along with the embossed background layer all add to the elegance of this card watercolored with Seaside Spray and Mint Macaron inks.

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Emboss one piece of the Seaside Spray cardstock with the Ornate Florals embossing folder and use snail to adhere to card front.

Use the larger of the ornate frame dies from the Ornate Layers dies to crop the 5″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock. Using Versamark ink, stamp the greeting from the Bloom and Grow stamp set onto this piece towards the upper right corner. Sprinkle with Silver Emboss powder and set with heat tool. Use dimensionals to attach this to the center of the card front.

Use Versamark ink to stamp the flower bouquet from the Bloom and Grow stamp set onto the 4″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock. Sprinkle with Silver Emboss powder and set with heat tool.  Use an Aqua Painter to watercolor the flowers with Seaside Spray ink and the leaves with Mint Macaron ink. I find it easier to apply a little of the ink to a small white tile I bought at the hardware store (for 29cents!) but you could also put some ink on an acrylic block and pick up the color with your Aqua Painter from that.

Crop the bouquet with the corresponding die from the Budding Blooms dies. Adhere to the card front with dimensionals. See photo for placement.

Scatter some rhinestones on the card front to add a little bling. Refer to photo for placement.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Seaside Spray cardstock to the inside of the card.

Crop the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock near the top of the piece with the floral design die from the Ornate Layers dies.

Use Versamark ink to stamp the small bunch of flowers from the Bloom and Grow stamp set to the lower left corner of this piece. Sprinkle with Silver Emboss powder and set with heat tool.

Color with Seaside Spray ink using an Aqua Painter.

Snail the completed piece to the inside of the card. I love how the Seaside Spray cardstock shows through the floral design at the top!

Envelope:

Use Versamark ink to stamp the small bunch of flowers from the Bloom and Grow stamp set to the lower left corner of the envelope. Sprinkle with Silver emboss powder and set with heat tool.

Color the flowers with Seaside Spray ink using an Aqua Painter.

I just love how this card looks – so elegant – and really with little effort! I hope you like it too!
