If you watched my Facebook Live this week, you saw me demonstrate the ‘Scrappy Strip’ technique for cards. If you’re like me, you save those extra little strips of Designer Paper that are left over after you complete a project–they’re just too pretty to throw away! I love this technique for several reasons–you get to use up those scraps that you are saving, the technique is very easy and you can make cards very quickly using it, and although similar, no two cards are alike!
On my video I showed several different Christmas cards using different Holiday Designer Papers. Today I am showing you an everyday card made with Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper strips. I stamped the greeting from the Positive Thoughts stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink and embellished with some Shaded Spruce sprigs from the Forever Flourishing dies. I also added a few green rhinestones from the Holiday Gems basic jewels.
For the inside of the card I used Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the sentiment and a leaf sprig from the Forever Fern stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, layered that onto a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card.
If you need a refresher on the technique, you can watch the replay of the video here.
I hope you give this technique a try. I think you’ll pleased with how quickly you can make a card that looks like you spent lots of time on!
Here is the list of products I used for this card. If you would to like to purchase any of them or other products, you can shop with me here.
