Blended Quiet Meadow

On my Facebook Live video this week I made three cards with the Quiet Meadow Bundle. I featured the stamps on one card, the dies on another card, and combined both for the third card which was an easel card in sepia tones. If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here.

This set is so much fun to design with that I made this card using Blender Brushes on all of the die cuts and placed them on an embossed layer of Shimmer Vellum. I love the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

Here’s the cardstock you’ll need for this card:
  • Card Base: Fresh Freesia – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Basic White – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • All Flowers and Leaf Stems: Scraps of Basic White
  • Inside Strip: Fresh Freesia – 4 1/8″ x 1/2″

Assembly:
  • Emboss the Shimmer Vellum with the Ornate Floral embossing folder. Use a few touches of glue to adhere it to one of the pieces of Basic White cardstock.
  • Crop the flower, one flower center, and the leaf stems out of Basic White cardstock. For my card, I made two of the thin leaf stems and one of the larger flat leaf stems, and I chose three of the flower stems. I also cropped one each of the butterfly dies.
  • Use your Blender Brushes to apply color to all of the cropped pieces. For the flowers, I used Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, and Fresh Freesia. For the large Polished Pink flower, I also used a very light touch to color one of the cropped flower centers. I used Garden Green ink to brush onto the flower stems and the thin leaf stems and Granny Apple Green for the larger flat leaf stem. I used Mango Melody for both of the butterflies, applying more color to the full butterfly and just a touch to the half butterfly.
  • Arrange the flowers and glue them in place onto the Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum front. Use dimensionals to attach the butterflies.
  • Apply Wink of Stella to the butterflies and small Pearls to their bodies.
  • Add In-Color Jewels to some of the flowers.
  • Tie a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the completed piece so that the bow is over all of the stems. Adhere the completed piece to the card front.

For the Inside:
  • Use Fresh Freesia ink to stamp a sentiment to the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • Adhere the strip of Fresh Fresh Freesia cardstock near the top of this piece, then adhere to the inside of the card.

Envelope:
  • If desired, use Fresh Freesia ink to stamp part of the flower spray or the large flower image to the lower left corner of the envelope.
