Windmill and Tulips

Very little effort is needed to make this stunning card. It employs two of the papers from the Flowering Fields DSP, which is in the new mini-catalog, as well as the large windmill die cuts from the Windmill Fields Die set, which is part of the Tulip Fields bundle.

The card base is Mango Melody cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The first layer is a piece Basic Black measuring 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.  Next, layer on this a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Flowering Fields DSP that resembles a cloudy sky.

Cut a piece of the small tulip Flowering Fields DSP approximately 4″ x 2″. Fussy cut around the top row of tulips, then adhere to the bottom of the card front, leaving the top edge of the flowers loose.

Crop the solid large windmill building out of Crumb Cake cardstock. Crop the detailed part of the building as well as the windmill sails out of Soft Suede cardstock then glue them onto the cropped Crumb Cake piece. Add a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot to the center of the windmill sails. Glue the completed windmill to the card front, tucking the bottom edge just slightly under the top of the row of tulips. Finish gluing the top edge of the tulips to the card front.

For the inside, stamp a sentiment of your choice with Memento Ink onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. For my card, I used the “Thinking of you” sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. Crop the tiny row of tulips from a strip of Mango Melody cardstock and glue them to the top of the white cardstock. Adhere the finished piece to the inside of the card.

Cut a 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ piece of the tulip DSP and adhere to the flap of the envelope. Trim the excess from around the edge of the envelope.
