The Wisteria Wishes bundle makes gorgeous wisteria flowers to decorate your cards and projects. I made a couple of cards on my Facebook Live video earlier this week showing how to use the dies or the stamped images to do just that. If you missed the video presentation, you can watch the replay here.
Today, I want to show you another idea for using this set. I remember my mom used to have some of these flowers called Red Hot Pokers in her yard and they were so striking. The bright red color and the tall spikes of flowers just stood out among the other flowers.
You can use the Wisteria Wishes bundle to recreate the look of the Red Hot Pokers for your cards and they are just as striking:
- Card Base: Real Red – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
- For the background layer, cut a piece of Basic White at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. Use Smoky Slate ink with the words background stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and stamp several times on the cardstock; be sure to stamp off once or twice before stamping on the cardstock so that the image is very light. Adhere to the card front.
- Use Garden Green ink to stamp the leaves/stems three times onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, then crop with the corresponding die. Cut apart one of the sets of stems.
- Using Pumpkin Pie ink, stamp the triple flower image three times onto a scrap of basic White cardstock. Use Real Red ink and the single flower image to stamp over each of the orange flowers. You may want to stamp over each flower two or three times depending on how deep you want the color. Crop the flowers with the corresponding die. Snip apart one of the sets of flowers.
- Arrange the flowers and stems onto your card front. For my sample, I glued two of the stems and flowers directly onto the card front up a little higher, then added the other two sets of stems and flowers to the card front with dimensionals a little bit lower than the other flowers. Refer to photo for placement.
- Stamp the greeting from the Go To Greeting stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Memento ink. Crop with the small die from the Stylish Shapes die set and attach to the card front with dimensionals. Refer to photo for placement.
- Place a small Matte Black Dot on the upper left corner of the card front.
- For the inside of the card, layer a piece of Real Red cardstock that has been cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
- Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp with a greeting of your choice with Memento ink. For my sample, I used a greeting from the Go To Greetings stamp set.
- Use Garden Green ink to stamp the two right stems/leaves to the lower left corner. Stamp the flowers as you did for the front using Pumpkin Pie and Real Red ink. Refer to photo for placement.
- Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.
- Stamp the far right leaves/stem and flowers on the lower left corner of the envelope as you did for the inside of the card.
