Golden Nested Friends

If you watched my Facebook Live video on January 3, you saw a few ideas using the new Nested Friends bundle. (If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here.) The more I play with this set, the more ideas pop up! Here’s another design using gold embossing for all the images and gold foil accents. I think you’ll agree this is another way to make this stamp set shine!

Here are the directions to recreate this card:
  • Layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Gold Foil Paper onto an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White Card Base that has been scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Use the Fern 3D embossing folder to emboss a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Lightly apply Old Olive ink to the embossed piece using a Blender Brush, then adhere this to the card front.
  • Crop the large leaf frame from the Eden’s die set and three tiny leaf sprigs from the Nested Friends die set out of Gold Foil paper.
  • Use Versamark ink to stamp the bird, nest image, and spatter-dot image from the Nested Friends stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Sprinkle with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
  • Use Water Painters to color the bird with Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, and Daffodil Delight ink, then crop with the coordinating die.
  • Use Water Painters to color the nest with Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral ink, then crop with the coordinating die.
  • Crop the eggs from the cardstock with the gold embossed spatter cardstock.
  • Adhere the large leaf frame onto the card front.
  • Use dimensionals to attach the bird and nest to the card front — refer to the photo for placement.
  • Tuck the tiny gold leaf sprigs under the nest and glue them in place.
  • Glue one egg onto the nest and use a dimensional to adhere another egg onto the nest.

Inside:
  • Use Versamark to stamp a greeting of your choice onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic white cardstock. For my card, I used a sentiment from the Eden’s Garden stamp set. Stamp the leaf sprig from the Framed Florets stamp set onto the upper left corner of this piece. Sprinkle the images with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
  • Use a water painter to color the leaves with Old Olive ink.
  • Adhere the finished piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:
  • Use Versamark ink to stamp the leaf sprig from the Framed Florets stamp set to the lower left corner of the envelope.
  • Sprinkle with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
