Use a background die as a mask, and you have two different ways to use it! On my video this week, I showed you how simple this technique is as well as how you can create two similar but different cards. I also used some of the images to make a cute treat box that can be used as a table favor or small gift.

Here are the cardstock requirements for the card with the large die cut:
- Card Base: Soft Sea Foam – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Die Cut Layer: Soft Sea Foam – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/8″
- Succulents, Flower Pot, and Greeting: Scraps of Basic White
- Die Cut Succulents: Scraps of Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron
- Inside Layer: Basic White – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- Inside Strips: Soft Succulent – 4 1/8″ x 5/8″; Soft Sea Foam – 4 1/8″ x 1/2″
For the Masked background card, you will need the following cardstock:
- Card Base: Highland Heather – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- First Layer (cut two): Soft Succulent 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Second Layer (front): Soft Sea Foam – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Second Layer (inside): Basic White – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Succulents and Greeting: Scraps of Basic White
To make the Treat Box, you will need the following cardstock:
- Box: Basic White Cardstock (or color of your choice) – 4 3/8″ x 4 3/8″, score each side at 1 1/4″
- Succulents and Flower Pot: Scraps of Basic White
