The Stippled Roses stamp set has some very detailed stamps in it that are perfect for making your own DSP. It’s a simple technique and allows you to make four similar yet slightly different cards at one time. If you weren’t able to watch the live presentation, you can watch the replay here.
For my samples here, I made the cards into birthday and “thinking of you” cards. In the video, I switched it up by using Valentine’s greetings stamped onto heart shapes that I made with a punch. While my cards are made with Real Red cardstock and ink, you could try other colors to make yellow, pink, lavender, or any other color roses – just use coordinating cardstock for your base.
Here are the basic measurements of cardstock you need:
- Card Base: Real Red – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- First Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Second Layer: Basic Black – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Stamped Layer: Basic White – 10″ x 7 1/2″ – stamp, color then crop into four 5″ x 3 3/4″ pieces. If desired, emboss with the Timeworn Type 3D folder for added texture.
- Greetings: Scraps of Real Red and Basic White, cropped with label dies or punches of your choice
- Inside Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
Here are the products I used to make these cards. If you wish, use a different color of ink for the roses and then use matching cardstock for the base. You can shop with me here if you’d like to purchase any of these products.
