Pumpkin Farm!

Memories of visiting a pumpkin patch in October to pick out just the right pumpkin inspired me to create this card using the Scenic Pumpkin Patch stamp set. The excitement of seeing all those pumpkins is one of the many fun things about autumn, making it my favorite season of the year! All of the stamped images for this card are from this set, which is an online exclusive.

One of the fun things about making this card is that you can add as many pumpkins as you want to the field and add different colors to the trees to suit your taste.

Here’s how I made my card:
  • Adhere a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive cardstock to a card base of Crumb Cake that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • A 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock is where you will do all of your stamping.
  • Please refer to the photo for the placement of all of the images.
  • I started by stamping the large ground/grass stamp using Old Olive ink. I also added a couple of the smaller ground/grass stamped images over the larger image just to help fill it in a bit.
  • Next, I used Cherry Cobbler ink to stamp the little barn and Early Espresso ink to stamp the roof onto the barn.
  • Using Pecan Pie ink, stamp the trees and the tiny fence.
  • For the tree leaves, I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze inks.
  • Using Pumpkin Pie, stamp the pumpkins! When you are stamping the pumpkins, just randomly place them on the cardstock. Start with the larger set of pumpkins near the bottom, as you work your way use the second largest set, and then use the smallest set. Add the single pumpkin image as needed to help fill in the blank spots.
  • Use Pecan Pie ink for the pumpkin stems and Crumb Cake for the vines and leaves. Again, just randomly place the vines over the pumpkins.
  • Using a Water Painter, add Old Olive ink around the pumpkins up to the stamped grass. Be careful not to paint too close to the pumpkins or the ink will smear.
  • Paint the sky with Balmy Blue ink using a clean Water Painter.
  • For the inside, I adhered a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive to the inside of the card base.
  • I stamped a sentiment with Crumb Cake ink and added the small group of pumpkins to the lower right corner using Pumpkin Pie ink for the pumpkins and Pecan Pie ink for the stems. The sentiment I chose to use was the “a little note to brighten your day” saying, which is from the Changing Leaves stamp set.
  • If you wish, stamp the group of pumpkins onto the lower left corner of the envelope.

I’ve listed all of the products I used to create this card. If you’d like to purchase any of them or any other Stampin’Up! products, you can shop with me here.
