Golden Changing Leaves

Here’s another idea for using the Changing Leaves bundle to create a card that would be perfect for a winter birthday or Christmas. Here again, I’m using a typical Autumn-type set for a winter design. I hope this design inspires you to look at your stamp sets with fresh eyes to see how you can use them year-round!

If you’d like to recreate this card, the instructions and supply list are listed below.

  • Begin with a card base of Blackberry Bliss of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Emboss a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of vellum with the Changing Leaves 3D embossing folder and adhere to the card base. NOTE: Glue and/or tape runners will show the vellum. Use a few small glue dots in the corners and in the middle to adhere the vellum.
  • Crop the large leaf using a 5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″piece of Distressed Gold specialty paper.
  • Crop the maple leaf from a 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Season of Elegance DSP.
  • Crop the remaining leaves and sprigs from Blackberry Bliss and Basic White cardstock. (Refer to photo). If desired, add a touch of Wink of Stella to the small white leaves.
  • Arrange all of the leaves and sprigs onto the card front and glue all but the maple leaf in place. The maple leaf is attached with dimensionals. It will take an extra minute for the glue to dry on the vellum.
  • Use Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White and crop with the small label die. Adhere to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Make a small bow with the Gold Metallic Trim ribbon and adhere to the card front with a glue dot.
  • For the inside, use Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp a sentiment of your choice on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere to the inside of the card.
