The Changing Leaves bundle is great for fall-themed cards and projects, but have you thought about using it for winter or Christmas cards? One of the things I like to do is challenge myself to find ways to design with stamp sets and bundles for multiple occasions or seasons so that I can get more use out of a set. Navy blue and silver always makes for an elegant wintry card, and using those basic colors with the Changing Leaves bundle did not disappoint.
If you’d like to recreate this card, I have the instructions and supply list below.
- Start with a base of Night of Navy – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
- For the front layers, emboss a 4 7/8″ 3 5/8″ piece of Smoky Slate cardstock with the Changing Leaves 3D embossing folder, then adhere to a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Attach this to the card front.
- Stamp the leaf images with Night of Navy ink onto scraps of Basic White cardstock, then crop with the large die.
- Crop two lacy leaves clusters, one solid small leaf cluster, and a sprig from Silver Foil paper. Snip one of the leaf clusters apart and use the leaves individually.
- Arrange the cropped piece onto the card front and glue in place. Refer to photo for placement.
- Use a glue dot to adhere a small bow made with the Silver Trim ribbon to the leaf stems.
- Add a few silver Adhesive Metallic Backed Gems to the card front for extra bling.
- For the inside, stamp a sentiment of your choice using Night of Navy ink onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. If desired, stamp a leaf or partial leaf onto the lower left corner of this piece. Adhere to the inside of the card.
