The Winterly Treetops bundle and coordinating Designer Series Paper is a wonderful set to create Christmas cards or any other wintery cards for birthdays (or just to say hello or thank-you!). There are several options for your creative pleasure with this set. You can choose to stamp the images and color them, use the dies to crop images from the DSP, or just use the beautiful DSP along with a greeting or sentiment of your choice for quick and easy designing.
On my video this week, I showed a few of these options to make Christmas cards. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here.
In this post, I will explain how to make the fun-fold card that I demonstrated. It’s a very easy fold to make and can be modified by using different Designer papers or focal points. (I’ll do a separate blog post for the other cards.)
Here is how the fun-fold looks when it is closed:
When you open the fun-fold, it has three separate panels that you can decorate with all of the beautiful Designer Paper that coordinates with the stamp set.
To make this card, you’ll need the following cardstock:
- Card Base: Garden Green – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
- Piece for Flaps: Garden Green – 9 3/4″ x 4 1/4″, score at 6 1/2″ and 3 1/4″
- Designer Paper for Base: Nests of Winter DSP – 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Cardstock for Inside Sentiment: Basic White – 4″ x 3″
- DSP for Remaining Panels: Nests of Winter DSP – 4″ x 3″, cut two using different, coordinating papers
- Strip: Nests of Winter DSP – 5 1/2″ x 1″
- Birds: Crop from Nests of Winter DSP
- Greeting: Scrap of Basic White
The greeting and sentiment stamps I used for my card are from a retired set called Still Night. If you don’t have that set, use whatever stamps you have to finish the card. In place of the silver cord for the bow, you could use ribbon or baker’s twine.
