I’m sure you know by now that a couple of pieces of the Nests of Winter Designer Series paper have bird images that can be easily cropped using the dies in the Winterly Treetops bundle. This makes it SO easy to create quick and beautiful cards!
I demonstrated how quickly you can put together a card using only die cuts. You can watch that video here.
- For the card, I embossed a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder, then adhered it to a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base of Old Olive.
- Using the dies from the Golden Greenery bundle, I cropped a branch from Mossy Meadow cardstock and one from Silver Foil. The Real Red sprig was cropped from one of the Textured Floral dies. I arranged and glued these to the card front.
- Using the 7th largest Deckled Circle die, I cropped a circle from a scrap of Season of Elegance DSP, then glued that over the stems of the branches on the card front.
- Crop one of the bird images from the Nests of Winter DSP and adhere it with dimensionals on top of the green circle.
- For the inside, stamp your sentiment oto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere it to the inside of the card.
For this card, I stamped and colored the greenery swags and also used a bird cropped from the Nests of Winter DSP. I demonstrated how I colored the swag on this video using Stampin’ Blends in Lt & Dk Granny Apple Green, DK Shaded Spruce, and Real Red.
I also stamped a few of the pussy willow sprigs, colored the stems with Dk Crumb Cake, and touched the buds with Wink of Stella.
The small pine branches were cropped from Shaded Spruce cardstock.
A 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Nests of Winter DSP was adhered to a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base of Shaded Spruce.
Arrange all of the pieces onto the card front and glue in place. I used dimensionals for the lower swag then tucked the bottom part of the bird under that to give it a more realistic look.
If desired, add a little Wink of Stella to the berries for some added shimmer.
For the inside, stamp your sentiment onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere to the inside.
