Year of Flowers – Happy Spring

Here’s a simple recipe for a card using the Year of Flowers bundle that can be adapted to use any three of the flowers you choose. For this card, I went with the Spring months flowers for a nice, bright card to say Happy Spring. The eyelet 3-D embossing folder makes a lovely background for the small flower panels.

  1. Make a card base with Basic White – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″.
  2. Layer onto the card base a piece of Season of Elegance DSP that measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  3. Cut a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock and emboss it with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder, then layer it onto a 5″ x 3 2/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Adhere this onto the card front.
  4. Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the three flowers onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock – you will need about 5 1/2″ x 3″. Crop the flowers using the label die from the Year of Flowers bundle.
  5. Color the flowers using Stampin Blends markers – Light & Dark Daffodil Delight for March, Light Lemon Lolly and Light Daffodil Delight for April, and Light Soft Sea Foam for May. The leaves and stems for all of the flowers use Light Shaded Spruce.
  6. Attach the flowers to the card front using dimensionals.
  7. If desired, apply Wink of Stella to the flowers for a little added glimmer
  8. Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the ‘Happy Spring’ greeting from the Storybook Friends stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Crop with the die from the Stylish Shapes set and attach to the card front with dimensionals.
  9. Crop a few of the leaf stems out of gold foil using the Year of Flowers dies and glue them in place with the ends under the greeting.
  10. Add a small adhesive brushed butterfly onto one of the flower panels.

  1. For the inside of the card, adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock to the inside of the card.
  2. Adhere a 5/8″ strip of Season of Elegance DSP to  the left side of a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp with a sentiment of your choice using Mossy Meadow ink. My sample used the sentiment form the Year of Flowers bundle. Adhere this to the inside of the card.
