Sweet Bugs Z-fold Card

Sweet Bugs is a bundle that is in the new Jan – April 2026 mini-catalog and has coordinating Designer Series Paper called Cute As A Bug. While you can stamp and color the images, the DSP has images which can be cropped with the coordinating dies. This Z-fold card features the DSP background as well as images cut from the DSP.

  • I created the Z-fold from Old Olive cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 2 1/8″, fold in half then the opposite direction on the 2 1/8″ score line.
  • The layers for the front flap and inside are Soft Sea Foam, 5 3/8″ x 2″ and 5 3/8″ x 4 1/4″. I embossed them with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder, then lightly brushed them with Old Olive ink using a Blending Brush.
  • For the inside, I cropped a 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla with the Everyday Arches die and stamped a sentiment with Old Olive ink. I stamped the small mushrooms image with Crumb Cake ink and colored it with Light Poppy Parade and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends markers. I adhered this to the inside of the card before finishing the card front.
  • To finish the card front, I cropped a 4″ x 2 3/8″piece of the Cute As A Bug DSP with the Everyday Arches die and layered it onto a 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock which was cropped with the same size Everyday Arched die as used for the inside.
  • Use adhesive on the left side only of the arch to adhere to the front flap. It is easier to line up the arch over the inside arch if you do this while the card is closed so that the inside arch does not show when the card is closed.
  • Crop several of the images from the Cute As A Bug DSP and adhere with dimensionals to the card front.
  • Use Old Olive ink to stamp and fussy cut a greeting onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and attach with dimensionals. For this card I used a greeting and sentiment from the Branching Out stamp set.
  • If desired, stamp the small mushrooms onto the lower left corner of the envelope as you did for the inside.
