Windmill and Tulips

Very little effort is needed to make this stunning card. It employs two of the papers from the Flowering Fields DSP, which is in the new mini-catalog, as well as the large windmill die cuts from the Windmill Fields Die set, which is part of the Tulip Fields bundle.

The card base is Mango Melody cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The first layer is a piece Basic Black measuring 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.  Next, layer on this a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Flowering Fields DSP that resembles a cloudy sky.

Cut a piece of the small tulip Flowering Fields DSP approximately 4″ x 2″. Fussy cut around the top row of tulips, then adhere to the bottom of the card front, leaving the top edge of the flowers loose.

Crop the solid large windmill building out of Crumb Cake cardstock. Crop the detailed part of the building as well as the windmill sails out of Soft Suede cardstock then glue them onto the cropped Crumb Cake piece. Add a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot to the center of the windmill sails. Glue the completed windmill to the card front, tucking the bottom edge just slightly under the top of the row of tulips. Finish gluing the top edge of the tulips to the card front.

For the inside, stamp a sentiment of your choice with Memento Ink onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. For my card, I used the “Thinking of you” sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. Crop the tiny row of tulips from a strip of Mango Melody cardstock and glue them to the top of the white cardstock. Adhere the finished piece to the inside of the card.

Cut a 5 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ piece of the tulip DSP and adhere to the flap of the envelope. Trim the excess from around the edge of the envelope.

Daffodil Afternoon DSP Card

It’s January, so that means there’s a new Sale-a-bration event happening! One of the products that is free with any $50 purchase is the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. The paper coordinates with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle, but there are so many beautiful designs in this pack of paper that it can be used all by itself.

I have a design for an all-occasion card showcasing the Designer Paper that is simple to make but gives elegant results. You can use whatever greeting you like for the front to customize your card. You can also switch the basic cardstock color to coordinate with whichever DSP you choose.

  • For the card base, score an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock at 4 1/4″.
  • Emboss a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock with the Gingham embossing Folder and adhere it to a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • Emboss a 3 1/3″ x 3 1/3″ piece of Basic White cardstock with the Tasteful Textile Embossing folder and set aside.
  • Cut 4 pieces of Daffodil Afternoon DSP measuring 1 3/8″ x 1 3/8″. Adhere them to four pieces of Flirty Flamingo cardstock cut at 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″. Use dimensionals to attach these evenly spaced onto the embossed piece of Basic White cardstock. Attach this piece to the embossed Flirty Flamingo piece with dimensionals. Refer to photo for placement.
  • Tie a piece of White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon around the card front, then attach to the card base.
  • Stamp a greeting of your choice to a scrap of Basic White cardstock and crop with a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set, then attach it to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Embellish the greeting with Pastel Pearls. For my greeting, I used a sentiment from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set.
  • For the inside, adhere a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of DSP to a 5/8″ x 4″ strip of Flirty Flamingo, then adhere to the top of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp with a sentiment of your choice or leave blank to write your own message.

  • For the envelope, apply glue to the flap of the envelope and adhere a 5 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ piece of DSP to it. Trim away the excess DSP.

FB Live Recap: Seas the Day

I received my pre-order of new products from the January – June 2022 mini-catalog this week, and I had a tough time choosing what to play with first! I settled on using the Seas the Day bundle just because it’s different from all of the floral sets, plus, having been spending the last couple of months on Holiday cards, it was a welcome change.

I’m on Facebook Live every Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET to share some ideas with the latest Stampin’Up! products – however, with Christmas being a little over a week away, I will be taking some time off to enjoy the holidays and plan to return on January 4th.

If you missed the live video presentation, you can view the replay here.

Here are the cardstock requirements for the card I made:
  • Card Base: Pool Party – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Bermuda Bay – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Simply Marbleous DSP – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″

  • All Sea Creatures – Scraps of Basic White
  • Long Seaweed: Scrap of Simply Marbleous DSP

The Seas the Day Bundle is in the Jan – June 2022 mini-catalog, and the Simply Marbleous DSP is a free product available in the Sale-a-bration brochure. At the time of this writing, I’m unable to add them to the product list, but I have listed all the other products I used for this card.

FB Live Recap: Evergreen Elegance Spotlight

Given that it’s Thanksgiving on Thursday, I kept my Facebook Live video brief this week. The Christmas card I made used the Evergreen Elegance stamp set and Evergreen Forest embossing folder. If you missed the video, you can view the replay here. I demonstrate a project or two every Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET on my Facebook group page, Friends Who Like Time4Stamping, so make sure you have joined the group!

You will need the following cardstock if you wish to recreate this card:

Eden’s Garden Merry Christmas

The Eden’s Garden bundle and coordinating products will be in the upcoming January mini catalog, but they’re available for pre-order now. While the stamp set has lovely floral images and sentiments, the set, especially with the coordinating dies and Specialty Designer Paper, also makes beautiful Christmas cards!

You can make this card very quickly, which is great if you still have a bunch of Christmas cards to make!

  • The Shaded Spruce card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • The first layer is Basic White and is 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. You will need two of these, one for the front layer and one for the inside.
  • Cut a piece of Ever Eden DSP at 5 1/4″ x 4″ and adhere to the front of the card.
  • Crop the large floral frame from the die set out of gold foil and glue it to the front of the card.
  • Using Real Red ink, stamp “Merry Christmas” from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and crop with the Stitched Rectangle die. Adhere to the card front with dimensionals.
  • For the inside, stamp the small leaf stem from the Eden’s Garden stamp set onto the upper left corner of the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink. Stamp the sentiment of your choice using Real Red ink. For my sample, I used a sentiment from the For Unto Us stamp set. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

  • Use Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the small leaf stem onto the lower-left corner of the envelope.

If you’re going to make a bunch of these cards, I would suggest cropping all of the gold floral frames first – that way, you’re ready to assemble your cards.
