Hanging Succulents with the Plentiful Plants Bundle

For this card, I combined the Plentiful Plants and Succulent dies to create a pretty hanging succulent pot on a backdrop of the beautiful Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP. I love how simple yet elegant looking it is with the multiple layers!

To make this card, you will need the following cardstock:

  • Card Base: Gray Granite – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer (front): Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • First Layer (inside): Basic White – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Second Layer: Gray Granite – 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • Third Layer: Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP – 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
  • Flower Pot: Scrap of Basic White
  • Macrame Flower Pot Holder: Scrap of Very Vanilla
  • Plants: Scraps of Just Jade, Evening Evergreen, and Mint Macaron
  • Inside Strips: Gray Granite – 4 1/8″ x 5/8″,  Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP 4 1/8″ x 1/2″

Assembly:

Adhere the green leafy DSP to the card base. Emboss the Gray Granite cardstock with the Macrame 3D embossing folder and layer it onto the card front using Seal or Multipurpose glue.

Crop the 4 3/4″ x 3 5/8″ piece of DSP with the Large scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours dies and attach it to the card front with dimensionals.

Now to build your hanging pot!

Use Cinnamon Cider ink to stamp the flower pot from the Plentiful Plants stamp set. Crop with the corresponding die. Use Very Vanilla cardstock to crop the macrame pot hanger from the Perfect Plants die set. Crop the small plant from the Perfect Plants dies out of Evening Evergreen cardstock.

Using Just Jade cardstock, crop the succulent from the Succulents dies and the trailing succulent from Mint Macaron cardstock.

Glue the macrame pot hanger to the flower pot.  Arrange the two larger plants on the back of the pot and the trailing plant on the front and glue in place. Use dimensionals to attach this to the card front. Place a matte black dot on the top of the macrame hanger.

Inside:

For the inside, adhere the DSP strip to the Gray Granite strip, then adhere to the top on the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock. Use Evening Evergreen ink to stamp a sentiment to this piece and then adhere to the inside of the card. The sentiment I used is from the Simply Succulents stamp set.

Envelope:

Use Cinnamon Cider ink to stamp the flower pot onto the lower-left corner of the envelope. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp the snake plant image at the top of the flower pot.

Sweet As A Peach Thank-You Card

I know, I know. I’ve said this with every new stamp set I’ve used lately. “This set is rapidly becoming one of my favorite new stamps sets!”

But it’s SO TRUE with the Sweet As A Peach bundle!

I made three projects on my Facebook Live video this week, which you can view here on replay if you missed it. When I started playing with this set, I fell in love with the coordinating Designer Paper, the You’re A Peach DSP. And I absolutely love the stamped images.

As promised,  here’s another card design using this set. Enjoy!

Cut Cardstock:
  • Card Base: Balmy Blue – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Basic White – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: You’re a Peach DSP – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Third Layer: You’re A Peach DSP – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″
  • Greeting: Basic White – 3″ x 2″
  • Peaches and Leaves: Scraps of Basic White

Assembly:

Adhere one of the larger pieces of Basic White to the card base, then layer the large piece of DSP onto the card front.

Crop the smaller piece of DSP with the largest frame from the Stitched So Sweetly dies and adhere to the card front with dimensionals.

Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp the greeting and the tiny flowers onto the 3″ x 2″ piece of Basic White cardstock, then crop with the third-largest frame from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Adhere to the card front with dimensionals.

Use Calypso Coral ink to stamp two larger peaches onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, crop with the corresponding die. Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp two leaf sprays onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and crop with the corresponding dies.

Adhere the peaches and the leaves to the card front slightly overlapping the white piece with the greeting. I slightly tuck the end of the leaf stem under the peach and allow the leaf to rest on top of the peach.

Inside:

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment and peach with Calypso Coral ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz onto the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock. See photo for placement. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Welcoming Window – “Miss You” Card

The Welcoming Window has such lovely window and shutters images and dies along with the flowers that the brick image often goes unnoticed. I’ve seen a few cards using the brick image to suggest a wall behind the focal point of the window and flowers.

One of the sentiment stamps says, “Wishing our paths crossed a little more often.” I think this is such a warm saying for a friend who you may not see very often! I have many friends who fit that category, whether through moving away or just the busyness of life placing a constraint on time and schedules.

With that in mind, I looked at the brick image stamp and thought it could be made to resemble a “path,” which I stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I added a few of the flower images without putting them in a flower pot to make it look like flowers growing along the path. For the flowers, I used some of the new In-Colors – Soft Succulent,  Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, and Pale Papaya, then cropped them with the corresponding dies. I stamped the sentiment above the design using Evening Evergreen.

The card base was made with Soft Succulent cardstock. I added a layer of  Mint Macaron cardstock on that before adding the Basic White designed piece.

For the inside, I just stamped one of the flower images in the lower-left corner of a piece of Basic White cardstock and left the rest blank to write my own message. I repeated this on the lower-left corner of the envelope.

This card has simple stamping, but with the colorful flowers, it still looks quite lovely. I know the person I send it to will appreciate receiving it!

The products I used for the card are listed below, but you could use any colors of cardstock or ink that you like. I chose the new In-Colors for the flowers, of course!

FB Live Recap: Simply Succulents

The new Simply Succulents bundle includes many stamps and dies that afford a variety of ways to design beautiful cards and projects. I played with this set for the first time this week and knew that I just had to share it on my video. I demonstrated three different ways to combine the stamped images and dies, but there are so many more possibilities! Be sure to watch for more designs coming on my blog.

You can watch the replay of the video here if you missed it.

All of the card bases are a basic A2 size, which is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The first layers are 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, and the second layers are 5 1/4″ x 4″. all of the stamped and die-cut pieces are scraps of the colors indicated in the video.

The products I used for these cards are listed below. If you need any of them you can shop with me here.

Simple Pansy Patch Birthday Card

As I mentioned on my Facebook Live video this week, I love the new pansy Patch Bundle! There are lots of stamps and dies to choose from when creating, and you can opt for flowers made by stamping or just made by using the dies. Whichever you choose, you won’t be disappointed.

For this card, I chose to highlight the pansy dies and used colors coordinating with the DSP. If you haven’t already watched the video from earlier this week, check it out for more ideas using this set.

I will also be sending another idea plus some graphics for the die set to everyone on my email list, so be sure you have signed up for that! If you’re not on my list, you can sign up to the right of this post.

Cut Cardstock:
  • Card Base: Polished Pink – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Pansy Petals DSP – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • First layer (Inside): Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Second Layer: Pale Papaya – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″
  • Flower Pieces: Scraps of Basic White, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, and Bumblebee

Assembly:

Adhere the DSP to the card base. Crop the Pale Papaya cardstock with the largest Stitched So Sweetly die. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment using Polished Pink ink onto the upper right corner, then adhere this piece to the card front using dimensionals.

Crop the Polished Pink and Basic White cardstock with the large pansy dies, making sure to crop two of the single large petal pieces from Basic White and two of the large petal trim pieces from Polished Pink cardstock. There’s a tiny die for the flower center; crop a scrap of Bumblebee cardstock with that and be careful not to lose that tiny die!

Crop the leaf and stem pieces from Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen cardstock. Assemble the flower and leaf pieces – if you need a refresher on this, watch the Facebook Live video I made demonstrating this. Attach the flower bud and leaves to the card front using seal and dimensionals, refer to photo for placement.

Inside:

Stamp the sentiment using Polished Pink ink to the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock. Use Polished Pink ink to stamp a small pansy on the lower left corner. Stamp the flower in the following order:

  • Stamp the detailed image with full strength Polished Pink ink.
  • Next, use the solid image with Polished Pink ink, being sure to stamp off once on scrap paper so that the pink is a lighter shade.
  • Stamp the flower highlight with Blackberry Bliss ink, then the center with Bumblebee ink.

Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, repeat the stamped image of the small pansy on the lower-left corner of the envelope.

The products I used for this card are listed below. If you need to purchase any of them, you can shop with me here.

Stamp the goat image with Memento ink onto the 2 5/8″ square piece of Basic White cardstock that has been cropped with the larger square Stitched With Whimsy die.  Color the goat as indicated with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and the horns with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. Adhere to the corresponding mat, then use dimensionals to adhere to the card front. See photo for placement.

Place a Matte Black dot onto the stamped pieces; see photo for placement.

Inside:

Stamp the sentiments using Memento ink. (For my card, I only inked the “Happy Birthday” portion of the stamp.)

Stamp the tin can image onto the lower-left corner of the envelope and color with the Smoky Slate Blends.
