FB Live Recap: Center Step Fold Shepherd’s Care Card

For my first play with the Shepherd’s Care stamp set, I made a center step-fold card, and I really like the way it turned out! The shepherd stamp is a “distINKtive” stamp, meaning that the stamp actually does the shading for you when you stamp the image. I just added a little very pale Gray Granite watercoloring to the image. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here.

Here are the cardstock requirements to make this card:
  • Card Base: Misty Moonlight – 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 1″, 2″ and 6 1/2″
  • Top Center Piece: Misty Moonlight – 8 1/2″ x 2 1/2″, score at 3″

FB Live Recap: End of Summer Daisies

White Shasta Daisies are one of those summer flowers that just about everyone recognizes. I have some in my yard, and they are such a cheerful bright spot in my summer garden. Summer is beginning to wind down and the daisies are starting to fade, so the Cheerful Daisies bundle is the perfect set to pull out and play with. For these cards, I chose to use colors that aren’t the bright colors of summer, but more of early Autumn. I love the way they turned out!

FB Live Recap: Triple Flap Card

For this week’s video, I wanted to show you how easy it is to make a Triple Flap Card. I have two examples to show you. The card works best if you have a stamp set that has multiple images to use, or sets that coordinate well together. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here.

The front of this fun-fold card closes to measure 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, so it will fit in the standard envelope. When it is open, the three flaps are clearly seen.

Here is the card I demonstrated in the video using the Charming Duck Pond bundle and coordinating DSP.

When opened, it looks like this, showing off the DSP and cute duck & frog images.

The card is very similar to a z-fold card, basically a double z-fold. It will look like this from the top view, and you can see the double z-fold.

Here are the basic directions for making the Triple Flap card. Refer to the video to refresh your memory of how to fold the card base and attach the layers. I am giving the basic directions here for you to design your own card. My samples are just suggestions to show you how the card is made, but you are always free to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the design!

  • To make this card, you need a piece of cardstock that measures 10 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ for the card base. Score this piece at 2 1/2″ and 3 3/4″ from each side.
  • For the first layer panels, cut two pieces of coordinating cardstock at 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ and one piece at 4 1/8″ x 2 3/8″.
  • The second layer for the panels will be cut slightly smaller. Choose coordinating Designer Series Paper, cut two pieces at 4″ x 4″ and one piece at 4″ x 2 1/4″
  • Embellish each layer as desired with whichever stamp set you are using.

Thank you for continuing to support me by watching my videos and following me on Facebook and Pinterest! Hopefully you have signed up for my emails as well. I truly appreciate it when you share my videos, comment on my Facebook page, and of course, make any Stampin’Up! purchases choosing me as your demonstrator.

I have included the supply list for both of these samples if you are interested in re-creating them.

Pumpkin Farm!

Memories of visiting a pumpkin patch in October to pick out just the right pumpkin inspired me to create this card using the Scenic Pumpkin Patch stamp set. The excitement of seeing all those pumpkins is one of the many fun things about autumn, making it my favorite season of the year! All of the stamped images for this card are from this set, which is an online exclusive.

One of the fun things about making this card is that you can add as many pumpkins as you want to the field and add different colors to the trees to suit your taste.

Here’s how I made my card:
  • Adhere a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive cardstock to a card base of Crumb Cake that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • A 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock is where you will do all of your stamping.
  • Please refer to the photo for the placement of all of the images.
  • I started by stamping the large ground/grass stamp using Old Olive ink. I also added a couple of the smaller ground/grass stamped images over the larger image just to help fill it in a bit.
  • Next, I used Cherry Cobbler ink to stamp the little barn and Early Espresso ink to stamp the roof onto the barn.
  • Using Pecan Pie ink, stamp the trees and the tiny fence.
  • For the tree leaves, I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze inks.
  • Using Pumpkin Pie, stamp the pumpkins! When you are stamping the pumpkins, just randomly place them on the cardstock. Start with the larger set of pumpkins near the bottom, as you work your way use the second largest set, and then use the smallest set. Add the single pumpkin image as needed to help fill in the blank spots.
  • Use Pecan Pie ink for the pumpkin stems and Crumb Cake for the vines and leaves. Again, just randomly place the vines over the pumpkins.
  • Using a Water Painter, add Old Olive ink around the pumpkins up to the stamped grass. Be careful not to paint too close to the pumpkins or the ink will smear.
  • Paint the sky with Balmy Blue ink using a clean Water Painter.
  • For the inside, I adhered a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive to the inside of the card base.
  • I stamped a sentiment with Crumb Cake ink and added the small group of pumpkins to the lower right corner using Pumpkin Pie ink for the pumpkins and Pecan Pie ink for the stems. The sentiment I chose to use was the “a little note to brighten your day” saying, which is from the Changing Leaves stamp set.
  • If you wish, stamp the group of pumpkins onto the lower left corner of the envelope.

I’ve listed all of the products I used to create this card. If you’d like to purchase any of them or any other Stampin’Up! products, you can shop with me here.

FB Live Recap: Halloween Night

The Scenic Pumpkin Patch stamp set has many pumpkin images to use on your cards and projects. I’ve made some cards using only this set, but I also wanted to show how to combine it with other sets to create great Halloween cards. I love how the card using the Potions and Spells bundle along with the Scenic Pumpkin Patch set turned out! It’s a little labor-intensive but well worth the effort.

For the other card that I made in this week’s video, I combined the Scenic Pumpkin Patch set with the large In The Grove die. The DSP from the Thoughtful Wishes suite makes a great backdrop for the trees and pumpkins.

If you missed the live video, you can watch the replay here. I will also be posting more cards using these sets on my blog, so be sure to check back!

Here’s the cardstock needed to make this card:
  1. Card Base: Gorgeous Grape – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  2. First Layer: Pumpkin Pie – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  3. Second Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  4. Pumpkins: Scrap of Very Vanilla
  5. Inside First Layer: Pumpkin Pie – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  6. Inside Second Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″

For this card, you will need the following cardstock:
  1. Card Base: Blackberry Bliss – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  2. First Layer: Misty Moonlight – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  3. Second Layer: Basic Black – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cropped with the In The Grove Die
  4. Pumpkins: Scraps of Very Vanilla
  5. Inside First Layer: Misty Moonlight – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  6. Inside Second Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″

I’ve listed the products used for these cards below. Please note that for the first card’s inside sentiment that you see in the video, I used a retired stamp set called The Raven, and for the greeting and inside sentiment for the second card, I used a retired set called Hallow’s Night Magic. If you do not have these sets, you can simply use whichever Halloween sentiments stamps you have on hand.

I also used a 1 3/8″ circle punch to make a mask for the moon on the first card. I used retired glow-in-the-dark bats colored with the black Blends marker to make the little bats for the second card. Again, if you don’t have any of these retired items, just improvise with what you do have!

Changing Leaves – Use Hybrid Embossing Folder for This Card

While the Changing Leaves bundle has beautiful stamped leaf images, you can simply use the hybrid embossing folder to make lovely leaves for your projects. For this card, I used the leaves made with the embossing folder and cropped with the coordinating die.

Here are the steps to make this card:
  1. Make a card base using Crumb Cake cardstock that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  2. Attach a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Crushed Curry card stock to the card base.
  3. Emboss a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock with the Changing Leaves folder and  attach it to the card front.
  4. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and emboss with the Changing Leaves folder.
  5. Use Blending Brushes to add Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry inks to the leaves. (Refer to photo.) Crop the leaves with the coordinating die.
  6. Crop the smaller leaves and branch out of Gold Foil Paper.
  7. Arrange all of the leaves onto the card front and glue in place. Refer to photo for placement.
  8. Use a glue dot to add a small bow made of linen thread or Baker’s twine to the base of the leaves.
  9. For the inside, layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to the inside of the card.
  10. Use Cajun Craze ink to stamp a sentiment of your choice to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and attach to the inside of the card.

The supply list for this card is listed below – you can use this link to shop with me. The Changing Leaves bundle is an online exclusive and is not found in any of the current catalogs, available while supplies last.

FB Live Recap: Changing Leaves Braided Card

As I mentioned last week, there are so many choices when designing with the Changing Leaves bundle. This week, I made a card with a braided edge and used two of the larger leaf images to decorate the front. I also added some gold foil sprigs to the card for extra bling.

To recreate this card, you need the following cardstock:

Changing Leaves – Copper and Gold

Here are the directions to make a beautiful card using the Changing Leaves bundle including the hybrid embossing folder. The card is perfect for any autumn occasion! I chose to make it an all-occasion card and left it blank inside to write my own message, but you could easily change the greeting to make it a birthday card, a thank-you card, or even a sympathy card.

  1. Start with a base of Copper Clay cardstock at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
  2. For the first layer, use the embossing folder to emboss a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic Beige and adhere it to the card base.
  3. Stamp two leaves onto copper clay cardstock, then crop with the large die.
  4. Crop one double leaf, one single leaf, and two sprigs from gold foil paper.
  5. Crop two gold leaf branches from Distressed Gold paper.
  6. Arrange the cropped leaves and sprigs onto the card front.
  7. Glue all of the gold pieces in place, then glue the copper leaves in place.
  8. Using Copper Clay ink, stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock and crop with the larger label die. Attach with dimensionals.
  9. Add a few of the copper colored adhesives sequins to the card front for a little bling.
  10. For the inside, stamp a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock with a sentiment of your choice or leave blank to write your own message. If desired, stamp a leaf in the corner using Copper Clay ink.

The Changing Leaves bundle is an online exclusive that is not found in the current catalog. You can use this link to shop with me if you’d like to purchase these or any other Stampin’UP! supplies. Thank you for your support!
