Time4Stamping Tip – Color Your Ribbon!

What do you do when you have a beautiful card or project and want a pretty bow to match, but there are no color options of ribbon that appeal to you?  You may have pink or green ribbon, but they clash with the colors in your project. White is an option but usually looks rather plain.

Here’s a tip to get the EXACT color match of ribbon you want for your project! Simply have the Silver or Gold metallic edge ribbon on hand and color it with the Stampin’ Blends marker that matches the cardstock and ink used in your project. Unroll the ribbon to the length you want and color it with the marker and you’re done!

Here’s a card I made and wanted a light purple bow to match the cardstock and flowers. I used the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends marker to color the ribbon. Look how nicely it matches the colors in my card!

There are currently 74 colors of Stampin’ Blends markers, so you will find just the right shade for coloring your ribbon! Click on any of the pictures below to get a closer look at the colors.

Hope you keep this tip in mind when you are working on your projects!

From ‘How’ to ‘Wow’ #3: Beautiful Rococo Rose

Take this simple card sketch and turn it into a beautiful card that’s sure to please the person who receives it!

Notice on this sketch I replaced the center “layer” with the stamped rose as the focal point. I also added more layers with the coordinating color to give it a more finished look.

Cut Cardstock:
  • Card Base: Very Vanilla – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ , score at 4 1/2″
  • Second Layer: Rococo Rose – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Third Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  • Focal Point:
  • Decorative Strip: Rococo Rose – strip 5 1/4″ x 1″

Assembly:

Use the Subtle embossing folder to emboss one 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, then snail to a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Rococo Rose cardstock. Snail to the card front.

Using the die from the Delicate Lace Edgelits, crop the strip of Rococo Rose cardstock and snail to the card front approximately 1/2″ from the bottom.

Using Rococo Rose ink, stamp the large rose from the Healing Hugs stamp set to the 3 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Add some shimmer to the flower using Wink of Stella. Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp three sets of leaves around the stamped rose.

Snail this piece to the 3 5/8″ x 2 7/8″ piece of Rococo Rose cardstock. Tie a piece of coordinating ribbon around this piece, then use dimensionals to attach to the card front, slightly on top of the decorative strip. I used some retired Pear Pizzazz shimmer ribbon I had. A good alternative would be to color a piece of Silver Metallic Edge ribbon with the Light Olive Green Stampin’ Blends Marker and tie it around the stamped image piece.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Rococo Rose cardstock to the inside of the card. Use Rococo Rose ink to stamp the large rose from the Healing Hugs stamp set to the left side of the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Use Pear Pizzazz ink to add some leaves to the design.

Use Gray Granite ink to stamp a sentiment to  the inside of the card. I used a sentiment from the Healing Hugs stamp set to make this a ‘Get Well’ card.

Envelope:

Carry the main design of the card onto the envelope by stamping the rose with Rococo Rose ink and one group of leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink. It is not necessary to stamp the entire image onto the envelope as it is quite large.

Again, this is a simple sketch that will give you fabulous results in making your card. Experiment by using different colors or a different stamp set. I find that using a stamp set with a larger design like the rose in the Healing Hugs stamp set works quite well in this type of design and also takes very little time to make it.

From ‘How’ to ‘Wow’ #2: A Butterfly Thank-You

Continuing with making a “wow” card from a simple sketch, here is another simple sketch similar to the previous sketch I posted. In this one, I have used butterflies and the greeting as the focal point of this card.

Use the basic idea to create several layers on your card base. I chose to use butterflies for this card.

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Emboss one piece of Balmy Blue cardstock with the Layering Leaves embossing folder and adhere to the card front with snail.

Emboss the strip of Pineapple Punch cardstock with the Subtles embossing folder. Use your paper snips to flag the ends, and adhere to the card front with snail.

Use the fourth-largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut an oval from a scrap of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

Using Memento Ink, stamp the greeting from the Waterfront stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the fourth-largest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. Use dimensionals to adhere this to the Pumpkin Pie scalloped oval, then use dimensionals to adhere to the card front.

Use Memento Ink  to stamp two large and small butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. Use Grapefruit Grove ink and the coordinating stamps to add color to the butterflies. Punch out with the coordinating Butterfly Punch.

Attach the butterflies to the card front using dimensionals. Use Wink of Stella to add glimmer to the butterflies, then add Pearls for the butterfly bodies.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Balmy Blue cardstock to the inside of the card. Decorate the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock with small butterflies, and adhere to the inside of the card with snail.

Envelope:

Stamp a small butterfly to the lower left corner of the envelope using Memento and Grapefruit Grove ink.

Try using this sketch with any of your favorite stamp sets and colors of your choice. You could easily swap the butterflies for flowers or leafy stems. I would love to see how you use this sketch to create your own card!

Tutorial: Purple Birthday Bouquet

The shades of purple contrasted with light green really add to the elegance of this card. Multiple layers, textures and embellishments make this card a “work of art.”

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Snail the 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock to the card front. The reason for this extra layer is that the next layer is embossed, which breaks down the fibers of the cardstock a bit and makes it less sturdy, plus the embossed layer looks much more “finished off” with a slight white border around it.

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the tiny tri-petal flowers from the Bloom and Grow stamp set onto the 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Whisper White cardstock toward the left side, creating interest  for the background.  NOTE – since you only want these little flowers to add interest in the background and not be the focal point, Stamp off before stamping the image onto the cardstock. To Stamp off means to ink up the stamp, stamp onto a piece of scrap paper, then stamp onto the cardstock – the image will be much lighter in color than stamping with full ink. This is the desired effect you want for the background. After you have stamped this piece, emboss it with the Subtle Embossing Folder, then snail it to the card front.

Use the smaller Delicate Lace Die to crop the strip of Highland Heather cardstock. Snail the strip of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper onto the top of the cropped strip, leaving just the bottom design showing, then snail the entire piece to the card front. See photo for placement.

Using Stazon ink, stamp the smallest three flower cluster onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Use Stazon ink to stamp the small leaves, the leaf and buds and the stem with the buds three to four times each onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.

Use an Aqua Painter and Highland Heather ink to color the flowers and buds and Pear Pizzazz ink to color the leaves. To do this, place the ink on an acrylic block or squeeze the closed ink pad to transfer some of the ink to the lid, then pick up the ink with your Aqua Painter. Start out light; you can always add more color! Crop these images with the corresponding Budding Blooms dies that are part of the Bloom and Grow bundle. Use Wink of Stella to add a little glimmer to the large flower cluster.

Arrange the small leaves, leaf and bud and bud clusters on the card front toward the left side. When you are satisfied with the arrangement, snail them in place. Use dimensionals to attach the larger three flower cluster in place.

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the Happy Birthday greeting from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Crop with the smallest narrow rectangle from the Rectangle Shapes dies. Snail onto the Purple Posy strip tucking the left end slightly under the large flower cluster.

Place three medium size pearls around the flowers.

Color about 14″ of the Silver Edge Metallic-Edge ribbon with the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends marker, then tie into a bow and attach to the card front with a glue dot. See photo for placement.

Inside:

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the sentiment from the Bloom and Grow stamp set onto the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use Stazon ink to stamp the small leaf/bud stem onto the lower left corner of this piece about 1/4″ up from the bottom. Snail the strip of Highland Heather cardstock to the bottom of this piece.

Color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink and the buds with Highland Heather ink using your Aqua Painter.

Envelope:

Carry over the card design to the envelope by stamping the leaf/bud stem to the lower left corner of the envelope. Use your Aqua Painter with Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz ink to color the image.

Thanks for taking a look! I hope you enjoy making this card.

Pretty Pink Finches

The four little birds sitting on a branch in the ‘Free As A Bird’ stamp set can be colored in so many different ways. With this card, I used Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake to color them, as they remind me of the little purple house finches that visit our yard every summer.

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Snail one piece of the Mint Macaron cardstock to the card front. Snail the large piece of Rococo Rose Designer Paper to the card front.

Using Stazon ink, stamp the birds on the branch image from the ‘Free As A Bird’ stamp set onto the 4 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use Stazon ink to stamp the small ‘Hello’ greeting under the birds toward the right.

Using Stazon ink, stamp two large flowers, three of the smaller flowers and four of the leaf images onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.

Using a Blender Pen, color the birds with Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake ink. Use Daffodil Delight ink for their beaks. Color the branches with Crumb Cake and the Leaves with Granny Apple Green ink. Color the flowers with Rococo Rose ink.

To use the ink with a Blender Pen, put some of the ink on an acrylic block then pick the ink up with the Blender Pen and use circular motions when coloring – start out light; you can always add more color. (I find it easier to see the ink placed on a white tile I purchased from a hardware store rather than putting it on an acrylic block).

Using the second largest die from the Stitched Nested Labels dies, crop the bird image. Use your paper snips to fussy cut the flowers and leaves images.

Use dimensionals to attach the bird image to the center of card front. Refer to the photo for placement of the leaves and flowers.

Use snail or multipurpose glue to adhere two of the leaves to the card front toward the upper right side, tucking the ends behind the bird image. Adhere the other two leaf images in the same way toward the lower left side of the card front, again tucking the ends under the bird image.

Use dimensionals to attach the two large and three smaller flowers to the card front as shown in the picture. Add large and medium size pearls to the centers of the flowers.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Mint Macaron cardstock to the inside of the card.

Using Stazon ink, stamp a large and small flower and the leaf image to the lower left corner of the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock. See photo for placement.

Using a Blender Pen, color the flowers with Rococo Rose ink and the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink. Snail the strip of Rococo Rose Designer Paper to the top of this piece, then snail to the inside of the card. If you wish to stamp a sentiment inside, do so before snailing it to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

Use Stazon ink to stamp a flower and leaves to the lower left corner of the envelope and use a Blender Pen to color with Rococo Rose and Granny Apple Green ink to match the card.

I can’t wait to make a whole set of these notecards using different colors for the birds and flowers with coordinating cardstock and Designer Paper. Wouldn’t a set of these notecards tied with a pretty ribbon make a lovely gift for someone?

From ‘How’ to ‘Wow’ #1: Simple Flowers and Layers

“Where do you come up with your ideas?”

While occasionally you may have a stunning idea in mind of what you want to create, more often than not, if you’re like most people, you look at a stamp set and wonder just what to do with it.

This is the first in a series of tutorials on how to look at a card “sketch” and use it to design a fabulous, one-of-a-kind card.

Look at the sketch. It mostly involves using a lot of layers on the card and just one simple stamped focal point. Texturing a layer with an embossing folder, changing the shapes of the layers, and using only two contrasting colors with white all contribute to the elegance of this card. Add a pretty bow and rhinestones, and you definitely have a “Wow!” card to send to someone special!

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Snail one piece of 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ Highland Heather cardstock to the card base.

Emboss one piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White cardstock with the Layered Leaves embossing folder, and then snail it to the card front.

Snail the Dotted Highland Heather Designer Paper to the 4″x 3″ piece of Highland Heather cardstock and then use dimensionals to attach to card front.

Using Highland Heather scrap, punch out one side of the Everyday Label punch. Snail to the top of the card front tucking the end under the raised rectangle from previous step. Attach a large Rhinestone to the top of this piece.

Using the scalloped edge die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, trim the 1 1/2″ strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock.

Attach the striped Granny Apple Green Designer Paper strip to the scalloped, trimmed Granny Apple Green strip, leaving a small border at the top. Snail this piece to the card front.

Trim the 3 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits.  Using Granny Apple Green ink, stamp two of the simple stems from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the oval. Using Highland Heather ink, stamp the medium-sized flower from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set near the top of the stems.

Use Dimensionals to attach to the card front. Add a little glimmer to the flowers with Wink of Stella. Place a rhinestone in the center of each flower.

Color approximately 14 ” of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon with Highland Heather Stampin’Blends marker. Tie into a bow and attach to cardfront with glue dots.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Highland Heather cardstock to the inside of the card.

Using Memento Ink, stamp a greeting of your choice onto the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock. I used two of the sentiments from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set for my card. Use Granny Apple Green ink to stamp two simple stems to the lower left side of this piece. Use Highland Heather ink to stamp the flowers onto the stems. Snail the stamped piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

Use Granny Apple Green ink to stamp a simple stem from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the lower left corner of the envelope. Use Highland Heather ink to stamp a flower from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the top of the stem.

This is a great sketch to use with any small floral stamp or other pretty design. Use your favorite colors and coordinating Designer Series Paper. Almost any embossing folder will work well for the background layer. I hope you enjoy making this card and using the sketch to create your own design!

PLEASE NOTE–Beginning June 3rd, 2019 Stampin’Up will not be selling the Paper Trimmer or Big Shot. They will be introducing new products to replace those sometime during 2019.

Tutorial: Beautiful Bouquet Double Point Fold

Using the ‘Double Point’ fun fold technique for this card makes it look elegant, but it’s quite simple to make! Once you make one card with this fun fold and see how fast it goes, I’m sure you’ll want to make more of them to keep on hand.

Cut Cardstock:
Assembly:

Using the 4″ x3″ piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut a scalloped oval using the largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals framelits and set aside.

Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp ‘Sending Love’ from the ‘Climbing Roses’ stamp set onto the 4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the largest oval from the ‘Stitched Shapes’ framelits. Snail onto the Blackberry Bliss scalloped oval and set aside.

Using the Sprig Punch punch, punch out two sprigs from the Mossy Meadow cardstock.

With a scrap of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, cut out two leaf stems using the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

Stamp four small flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Blushing Bride ink. Cut out the flowers with coordinating dies from the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

Arrange the flowers, leaves and sprigs around the oval greeting.

  • Cut one of the sprigs in half and adhere one piece with multipurpose glue near the top of the oval.
  • Glue the other sprig to the bottom left side of the oval.
  • Trim the stems off of the die cut leaves and glue in place, refer to photo of finished card for placement.
  • Snail two of the flowers at the bottom of the oval slightly overlapping the ends of the sprig and leaf.
  • Use a dimensional to adhere another flower  slightly overlapping the other two flowers at the bottom of the oval.
  • Use a dimensional to adhere the fourth flower at the top of the oval slightly overlapping the ends of the sprig and leaf. Refer to the photo of the cardfront for placement.
  • Place a large pearl on the center of each flower.
  • Use Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little glimmer.

Take a 4″x 3″piece of Share What You Love Designer Paper (DSP) which has been scored at 1″ along one of the 4″ sides. Fold the remaining two inches of this piece so that it meets in the center along the score line and forms a point at the top. Snail the folds down. Repeat with the second piece of DSP. The photo below shows what both sides should look like when you finish folding them.

Using multipurpose glue or Snail, adhere the DSP to the top and bottom of the 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, applying the adhesive to the one inch portion of the DSP that did not get folded.

Fold the points of the DSP over to the center of the Whisper White cardstockBurnish the folds with your Bone Folder so the folds are nice and crisp.

Place two dimensionals at the tip of the top point, then center the completed focal point oval to the dimensional, making sure the dimensionals do not show at the edge of the oval. Refer to finished card photo.

Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the sentiment onto the center of the Whisper White cardstock, making sure it does not show from behind the oval. If you have trouble determining this, place small pencil marks on the cardstock to the side of the oval when it is folded on top of it to use as guidelines to stamp the sentiment. I chose a sentiment from the ‘Special Celebrations’ stamp set as it is not very wide. Don’t forget to erase your pencil marks when you are done stamping.

ENVELOPE:

Keeping with my habit of decorating the lower left corner of the envelope, stamp the flower with Blushing Bride ink and stamp the tiny leaf several times with Pear Pizzazz ink.

Your beautiful card is now finished! Wasn’t that easy?  Whoever you send this card to will be impressed with its elegance, but you don’t have to tell them how quick and easy it was to make!

Tutorial: Heartland Tractor Birthday Card

Looking for a card for a man’s birthday or for Father’s Day? The ‘Heartland‘ and ‘Rooted in Nature’ stamp sets are the perfect combination to create a card he’ll really appreciate.

Cut Cardstock:
Assembly:

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the tractor image from the ‘Heartland’ stamp set onto the 4″ x 3″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and set aside.

With the Woodland Embossing Folder, emboss the 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Using the 6th largest oval from the Layering Ovals framelits, cut an oval in the embossed cardstock approximately 3/4″ from the right side and 1 1/2″ from the top.

Using the 5th largest oval from the Layering Oval framelits, cut an oval in the 4″ x 3″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Snail this to the back of the Very Vanilla embossed piece so that it ‘frames’ the oval.

Snail the tractor stamped image onto the card front, making sure you place it where it will show through the cut ovals when you place that piece over it.

Using dimensionals, adhere the embossed piece to the card front, making sure that the tractor shows through the oval as well as it being centered onto the card front.

Stamp two trees from the ‘Rooted in Nature’ stamp set onto the 5″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. To get both the Mossy Meadow ink and Early Espresso ink onto the stamp, first ink up the stamp with the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Pad. Quickly use a Blender Pen to remove the ink from the ‘trunk’ areas of the tree, then use an Early Espresso marker to apply color to the tree trunk. ‘Huff’ on the ink-covered stamp to make sure all of the ink is still moist, then stamp onto the cardstock. If you’re not familiar with the term ‘huffing’, it means to exhale, not blow, on the ink covered stamp. Blowing on it will dry the ink; huffing will keep the ink moist. Cut out both trees using the coordinating tree die from the ‘Nature’s Roots’ framelits.

Snail one of the trees to the card front near the lest side. Use dimensionals to attach the second tree to the card front closer to the oval with some of the branches extending slightly over the oval. Refer to the finished card photo for placement.

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting from the ‘Itty Bitty Greetings’ stamp set onto the strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, then punch it out with the Classic Label punch. Snail this piece onto 1/2″ strip of Early Espresso cardstock and use your paper snips to trim the ends to match the design of the punched out greeting. Use dimensionals to adhere the greeting to the card front above the oval. Refer to the finished card photo for placement.

INSIDE:

Stamp one tree onto the lower left corner of the 5 3/8′ x 4 1/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, using the same two-color technique as on the trees for the card front. Stamp the sentiment of your choice using Early Espresso ink. The sentiment I used for this card is from the ‘Golden Afternoon’ stamp set. Snail the stamped piece to the inside of the card.

ENVELOPE:

Decorating the envelope is a nice way to complete your project and give it your extra-special touch. I stamped a tree from the ‘Rooted in Nature’ stamp set on the lower left corner of the envelope using the same technique as for the trees on the card front.

Please note that purchasing the ‘Rooted In Nature’ stamp set and ‘Nature’s Roots’ framelits as a ‘bundle’ will automatically give you a 10% discount on those items. Also, if you are purchasing the stamp sets as wood mount sets, you do not need acrylic blocks.

I hope you enjoy making this card. It’s a perfect ‘masculine’ card for a man’s birthday – just switch up the greeting to make it a Father’s Day card.

Thank you for choosing me as your Stampin’Up demonstrator!

Tutorial: Peach Tea Together

I have received so many positive remarks about this card I designed using the Tea Together stamp set that I thought I’d share the directions on how to make it. It’s perfect for a Mother’s Day card or birthday card for a special lady in your life. The colors are so soft and the design so feminine that it’s sure to bring a smile to whoever receives it!

Cut Cardstock:
Assembly:

Snail a piece of Petal Pink cardstock to the card front.

Use a sponge brayer to apply Petal  Pink ink to the top inside of the Lace Dynamic Embossing Folder (the side with the ‘Sissix’ name on it).

Place a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Whisper White cardstock into the inked folder and run through the Big Shot to transfer the ink and design onto the cardstock. Snail to the card front.

Using Smokey Slate ink, stamp the teapot from the Tea Together stamp set onto the 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock, then cut out with the teapot die from the Tea Time framelits.

Using Smokey Slate ink, stamp the small flower from the Tea Together stamp set onto the teapot and stamp three flowers onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. Cut out the three flowers using the coordinating die from the Tea Time framelits.

Transfer a small amount of ink from the Petal Pink Stampin’ Pad onto a clean acrylic block. Use a blender pen to pick up the ink from the acrylic block and color the flowers. Scribble a small amount of Pear Pizzazz ink onto a clean acrylic block, pick up the color with a blender pen and color the leaves on flower images. If you don’t have the Pear Pizzazz marker, you could also use the Pear Pizzazz Stampin Pad and place it on an acrylic block and use the blender pen to color the leaves. Use a Pineapple Punch marker to color the flower centers.

Center and cut the strip of Whisper White cardstock with the Delicate Lace Edgelit. Refer to photo for the edgelit used on this card. Glue this onto the 4″ x 1″ strip of dotted Petal Pink DSP. Adhere this finished strip onto the card front about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the card, refer to photo for placement.

Attach the teapot to the card front using dimensionals. Adhere the three cut out flowers to the top of the teapot – I used a snail for two of the flowers and a dimensional for the top flower. See photo for placement.

Tie a small bow with a piece of White Baker’s Twine and use a glue dot to attach to the teapot near the flowers.

Inside:

Snail the remaining  5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Whisper White cardstock to the remaining piece of Petal Pink cardstock.

Snail the 1/2″ strip of dotted Petal Pink DSP near the top of the Whisper White cardstock.

Tie a piece of White Baker’s Twine around the strip of Petal Pink DSP, making a small bow.

Using Smokey Slate ink, stamp a small flower near the top left corner of the inside card piece.  Color the flower as you did for the card front. Stamp your greeting using Smokey Slate ink. For this card I used a greeting from the Forever Lovely stamp set. Use whichever greeting you prefer, or leave it blank to write your own message. Snail the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

Decorate the envelope by using Smokey Slate ink to stamp the small flower in the lower left corner. Color the flower as you did for the card front.

I hope you enjoy making this card as much as I did designing it, and I hope it inspires you to play with the Tea Together stamp set and design something lovely as well!

“These Little Piggies” Tutorial Series: When Pigs Fly

This is the final notecard in my series of This Little Piggy notecards. Looking at the happy expression the little pig on this card has, one would never question whether pigs fly!

Cut Cardstock:
Assembly:

Emboss one piece of Highland Heather cardstock with the Sparkle embossing folder, then snail to the card front.

In order to stamp the flying piggy without having the words on the image, you will need to cover the words with a piece of tape before adding the ink to the stamp. Then remove the tape before you stamp onto the piece of 3″ x 2 1/2″ of Whisper White cardstock.

Using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen, gently color the stamped image. I used Calypso Coral for the pig, Daffodil Delight for the wings, and Bermuda Bay for the sky.  I used the Basic Gray pencil at full strength for the hooves. Snail the stamped image onto the piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock, then use dimensionals to adhere to the card front slightly askew.

Cut out two small cloud shapes from Sparkle Glimmer Paper using the small cloud from the Up and Away thinlits. Use dimensionals to adhere the clouds to the sky background of the stamped image. Refer to the photo for placement.

Inside:

Snail the remaining piece of Highland Heather cardstock to the inside of the notecard, then snail the 4 5/7″ x 3 1/8″ of Whisper White cardstock to the inside as well.

I hope you enjoy making this series of notecards. They are great for dropping a quick note to someone and will be sure to make them smile. Make a couple sets to have on hand when you need a small gift for someone – handmade, practical and cute!
