It’s Magnolia Week! Here’s the first in a series of projects made with the Magnolia Blooms stamp set and Magnolia Lane Designer Paper. The Magnolia Blooms stamp set is not in the annual catalog, but is available through the Beginner Brochure. It is a lovely compliment to the larger Good Morning Magnolia stamp set which is in the annual catalog.
This quick-to-make treat box is perfect for holding tea bags, chocolates, or even an individually wrapped little cake. The design was inspired by my friend Julie Gilson of Stampin’ Gala.
Cut Cardstock:
- Box Bottom: Petal Pink 8 ½” x 6”, score on the 6” side at 1 ½” and 4 ½, score on the 8 ½” side at 3 ½” and 5”
- Box Lid: Magnolia Lane Designer Paper ( green leaf design) – 5 ⅝” x 4 ⅛”, score all sides at 1 1/4″
- Flowers and White Background: Whisper White – scraps
- Leaves: Mossy Meadow – scrap piece
Assembly:
Box Bottom: Cut on score lines as shown, cutting a slight wedge for easier folding. Apply Tear & Tape as shown.
Fold on score lines, remove paper from Tear & Tape and assemble box.
Box Lid: Cut on score lines as shown and apply Tear & Tape.
Fold on score lines, remove paper from Tear & Tape, and assemble lid.
Lid Embellishment: Out of a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, crop the doily from the Stitched Labels dies.
Using Memento ink, stamp a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with the large flower and the small flower from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set. Color with Light Petal Pink and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends markers. Use your paper snips to fussy cut the flowers.
Out of Mossy Meadow cardstock, crop one large and two small leaves from the Magnolia Memory dies. Arrange the leaves and small flower on the doily shape and glue or snail in place. Use dimensionals to attach the large flower to the center of the doily shape. See photo for placement.
Use dimensionals on the upper part of the back of the embellishment to attach to the lid.
Make a small bow with the Gold Metallic Edge ribbon and attach to the top of the lid with Tear & Tape or a glue dot.
