Quick and Easy Beautifully Happy Thank-You Card

I used the Beautifully Happy stamp set on my Facebook Live video this week to show you how quickly you can make beautiful cards. The distINKtive stamps included in the set used to color the stamped images make coloring and shading a breeze. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here.

Keeping in line with Pantone’s color of the year, Viva Magenta, I’ve designed another card using the Beautifully Happy stamp set. It’s very simple but pretty and makes up very quickly.

Please note — I found it easier to place the silicone craft sheet under my cardstock to be stamped. The stamped images came out nicer.

  • The card base is Basic White, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • The second layer is a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock embossed with the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder.
  • Layer a 5 3/8″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Country Gingham DSP onto the card front.
  • Cut three pieces of Basic White cardstock measuring 1 3/4″ x 1 1/2″, and stamp the small flower onto each of them using Memento ink.
  • Using the coordinating stamps, stamp the flower with Melon Mambo and the flower bud and flower base with Granny Apple Green ink. Color the flower center with the coordinating tiny stamp and Daffodil Delight ink, or just use a Daffodil delight Stampin’ Blends marker to color it.
  • Layer the stamped flowers onto pieces of Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 1 7/8″ x 1 5/8″, then adhere them to the card front with dimensionals. Refer to the photo for placement.
  • Add a medium rhinestone to each of the stamped flower pieces.
  • Use Memento ink to stamp the ‘Thank you” onto a 1 1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere to the card front with dimensionals.

  • Layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock onto the inside of the card.
  • Stamp a flower like you did for the front onto the lower-left corner of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • If desired, stamp a sentiment of your choice onto this piece, or leave it blank to write your own message, then adhere it to the inside of the card.

  • Stamp a small flower onto the lower left corner of the envelope using Memento for the image, Melon Mambo for the flower, Granny Apple Green for the bud and flower base and Daffodil Delight for the flower center.

Products used to make this card are listed below. Please keep in mind that the Beautifully Happy stamp set will only be available through the end of February 2023 since it is a free Saleabration item. To receive this set requires a minimum of $100 purchase of any Stampin’Up! products. Shop with me here if you’d like to purchase any Stampin’Up! products to make this card or any other projects. FB Live Recap: Beautifully Happy in Magenta

Apparently, Pantone is the premier decision maker for the “color of the year,” and this year, they have decided that Viva Magenta is the color for 2023. While we normally think of magenta as being a bright pinkish purple a bit on the dark side, for the purposes of fashion and home decor, it encompasses many different shades — ranging from the bright, almost fluorescent pink to the subtle, softer shades of pink. I even got an email from a seed catalog company telling me about flower seeds to order that were the color “Viva Magenta!”

In honor of the color of the year, I decided to design some cards using the color Melon Mambo with the Beautifully Happy stamp set.

If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here. Also, check back here on Saturday for directions for another Beautifully Happy Melon Mambo thank-you card that’s very quick to make.

Golden Nested Friends

If you watched my Facebook Live video on January 3, you saw a few ideas using the new Nested Friends bundle. (If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here.) The more I play with this set, the more ideas pop up! Here’s another design using gold embossing for all the images and gold foil accents. I think you’ll agree this is another way to make this stamp set shine!

Here are the directions to recreate this card:
  • Layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Gold Foil Paper onto an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White Card Base that has been scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Use the Fern 3D embossing folder to emboss a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Lightly apply Old Olive ink to the embossed piece using a Blender Brush, then adhere this to the card front.
  • Crop the large leaf frame from the Eden’s die set and three tiny leaf sprigs from the Nested Friends die set out of Gold Foil paper.
  • Use Versamark ink to stamp the bird, nest image, and spatter-dot image from the Nested Friends stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Sprinkle with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
  • Use Water Painters to color the bird with Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, and Daffodil Delight ink, then crop with the coordinating die.
  • Use Water Painters to color the nest with Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral ink, then crop with the coordinating die.
  • Crop the eggs from the cardstock with the gold embossed spatter cardstock.
  • Adhere the large leaf frame onto the card front.
  • Use dimensionals to attach the bird and nest to the card front — refer to the photo for placement.
  • Tuck the tiny gold leaf sprigs under the nest and glue them in place.
  • Glue one egg onto the nest and use a dimensional to adhere another egg onto the nest.

Inside:
  • Use Versamark to stamp a greeting of your choice onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic white cardstock. For my card, I used a sentiment from the Eden’s Garden stamp set. Stamp the leaf sprig from the Framed Florets stamp set onto the upper left corner of this piece. Sprinkle the images with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
  • Use a water painter to color the leaves with Old Olive ink.
  • Adhere the finished piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:
  • Use Versamark ink to stamp the leaf sprig from the Framed Florets stamp set to the lower left corner of the envelope.
  • Sprinkle with Gold embossing powder and set with your heat tool.
