FB Live Recap: Earthen Elegance and Using Up that Shining Brightly DSP!

Remember back in the fall when we got the new mini catalog and we LOVED all of the new beautiful autumn, winter, and Christmas Designer Series Paper? If you’re like me, perhaps you got caught up in all that beauty and purchased too much DSP or even bought some and never used it. Well, that’s exactly what I did! I bought some of the gorgeous Shining Brightly DSP but never used it with the coordinating Stars at Night bundle. My Christmas cards are made and already mailed, but I still wanted to use that beautiful paper. That leads me to this week’s video — I pulled out the Earthen Textures bundle and thought it would look great with the Shining Brightly DSP. I just love how these cards turned out! The gold foil in the paper certainly adds an elegant flair to the designs.

FB Live Recap: Feathered Flight

It has been my observation that we often forget about making more masculine types of cards. I know I’m guilty of making cards more traditionally suited for women or children, so I thought I’d switch it up this week and use the Feathered Flight stamp set to create some cards more suitable for men or any nature lover. The stamp set has the “distINKtive” type of stamps, which lends itself to monotone cards. If you’re not familiar with distINKtive stamps, they are very detailed and produce self-shading when you stamp with them. You don’t have to color any images, so you can whip up designs with them pretty quickly.

FB Live Recap: Garden Meadow & Meandering Meadow DSP

This week’s video featured the Meandering Meadows DSP that coordinates with the Garden Meadow Bundle. This paper makes it so easy to create beautiful cards, and the coordinating images from the stamp set are perfect for stepping up your design.

For this card, choose your favorite DSP design from the pack, add a simple “hello” and a couple of colored images, and you’re done!

Here’s what I used for this card:

Card Base: Blueberry Bushel – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
First Layer: Daffodil Delight – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ – cut two
Second Layer (front): Meandering Meadows DSP 5 1/4″ x 4″
Second Layer (inside): Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
Wheelbarrow and Flower Basket: Scraps of Basic White

This card enhances the DSP by creating an arch to frame it. This is easily done with one of the dies in the Garden Meadow Bundle and the Exposed Brick embossing folder. Aren’t those little gold bird embellishments the cutest thing?

Card Base: Basic White – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
First Layer: Meandering Meadows DSP 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″

If you like to make Z-fold cards, you’ll love using the DSP for this card. Again, the DSP does the bulk of the work for you – just add some of the stamped and die-cut images to highlight the Z-fold.

Easy Fun-Fold Beary Cute Christmas Card

This is an easy fun-fold card for Christmas that will make people smile! It’s basically a “Z-fold” card with an added front panel. Again, the Beary Christmas DSP is doing most of the work for you.

The card base is Starry Sky cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ & 2 1/8″.
Fold on the score lines to create the Z-fold.
The front panel is a piece of Beary Christmas DSP cropped with the third largest Deckled Rectangle die layered onto Balmy Blue cardstock cropped with the second largest Deckled Rectangle die. NOTE – Do NOT place this on the card front until the inside is finished!
Fussy cut the bear with the bunny and tree and attach it to the panel with dimensionals.
For the inside, crop a piece of Basic White cardstock with the second largest Deckled Rectangle die. Stamp this with the sentiment using Starry Sky ink. If desired, stamp the small package image onto the lower left corner using Real Red ink. Adhere this to the inside of the card.
AFTER you have adhered the inside panel, close the card with the Z-fold intact and attach the front panel to the small left side of the folded card base, making sure that you have placed it exactly over the inside panel. This will hide the inside panel when the card is closed as it is pictured above.
This is how it should look when pulling it open:

If desired, stamp a small package onto the lower left corner of the envelope using Real Red ink.

Happy Christmas Bear with Trees

Here’s a cute, quick, and easy card to make for Christmas using the Beary Christmas DSP and Beary Cute stamp set. You’ll need to fussy cut one tree and the bear, but don’t let that deter you from making this card!

For the card base, you need a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Starry Sky cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.
The layer is Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Before adhering it to the card base, stamp two trees using Garden Green ink for the solid image and Shaded Spruce for the outline. Use Balmy Blue ink to stamp the small snowflake image several times above the trees. NOTE – Stamp off the ink once on scrap paper before applying to the cardstock so that the snowflakes are very light blue.
Stamp the greeting to the cardstock using Starry Sky ink. I combined the “Happy” and “Christmas” stamps for my greeting.
Adhere the stamped piece to the card base.
Stamp an additional tree onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut. Attach this tree to the card front with dimensionals, placing it between the two other trees.
Fussy cut one of the polar bears from the DSP and attach it to the card front with dimensionals.
If desired, place Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequins in the center of each snowflake that you stamped. I used a combination of the clear and blue sequins for my card.

For the inside of the card, stamp a tree onto the lower left corner of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp the Warm Wishes sentiment using Starry Sky ink, then adhere the piece to the inside of the card.

If desired, stamp a few snowflakes onto the lower left corner of the envelope.

FB Live Recap: Northern Lights with Wintry Scene

For my video this week, I wanted to explore the northern lights technique to use as a background for a wintry scene. I haven’t seen the northern lights in person, but I have seen the southern lights (Aurora Australis), which is the same thing, only in the southern hemisphere. There is something so mesmerizing about watching this natural phenomenon. Of course, photos and pictures do not do it justice. That being said, it is fun to play with this technique as each time you do it, you get a slightly different, yet equally impressive result.

FB Live Recap: Quick & Easy Beary Cute Cards

FB Live Recap: Christmas Classics

It’s time for some Christmas Classics! What a fun bundle to play with – the dies are awesome. I quickly – emphasis on quickly – made these three cards for my video this week. If you need to make a lot of Christmas cards for family and friends, this may be the set for you.

Whether you like to make lots of different cards or a lot of one design, I hope you will be able to get some inspiration from my design for your own cards.

For the “Merry Christmas” card, you need the following cardstock:

Card Base: Cherry Cobbler – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
First Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
Holly Leaves & Berries: Scraps of Basic White
Gold Leaves: Scraps of Gold Foil Paper
Large Label: Scrap of Shaded Spruce
Greeting: Basic White – 4″ x 1″

You’ll need the following cardstock for the “Tidings of Comfort & Joy” card:

Card Base: Cherry Cobbler -8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
First Layer (front): Basic White – 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
Second Layer: Joyful DSP – 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″
Die Cut: Gold Foil Paper – 4″ x 4″
Greeting: Basic White – 3″ x 3″
Extra Sprigs: Scraps of Shaded Spruce

I’m so happy that the Trucking Along Bundle is back in stock, so I created three Christmas cards with it for this week’s video. For the fun-fold card, you will need the following cardstock:
