Tutorial: Raven Pumpkin Patch

This raven proudly sitting on his stack of pumpkins makes a pretty Halloween card – or you can leave it blank for an autumnal notecard.

Cut Cardstock:
  •      Card Base: Basic Black – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  •      First Layer: Pumpkin Pie – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  •      Second Layer: Old Olive – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  •      Third Layer: Very Vanilla – 5″ x 3 7/8″, cut two
  •      Pumpkins: Pumpkin Pie – 7 1/2″ x 2″, Old Olive scraps for leaves,  Crumb Cake scraps for stems
  •      Raven: Very Vanilla – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Assembly:

Snail one 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock then one 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Old Olive cardstock to the card base.

Use Woodland Embossing Folder to emboss one 5″ x 3 7/8′ piece of Very vanilla cardstock. Use a sponge dauber to lightly apply Crumb Cake ink to this piece, highlighting the trees and branches. Snail to the card front.

Using Pumpkin Pie ink, stamp three pumpkin outlines from the Harvest Hellos stamp set onto the 7 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, then punch out with the coordinating punch.

Using Mossy Meadow ink, stamp three pumpkin leaves from the Harvest Hellos stamp set onto the scrap of Old Olive cardstock, then punch out with the coordinating punch.

Using the same punch, punch out three stems from Crumb Cake cardstock. Snail a stem to the back of each pumpkin. Snail one leaf to each pumpkin – refer to photo for placement.

Attach the pumpkins to the card front as follows:

  • Snail the top pumpkin directly to the card front.
  • Use dimensionals to attach the left pumpkin slightly overlapping part of the top pumpkin.
  • Use a double layer of dimensionals to attach the pumpkin on the left slightly overlapping the other two pumpkins.

Attaching the pumpkins in this manner will give a nice stacked look to them.

Use Memento ink to stamp the raven from The Raven stamp set onto the small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Use your paper snips to fussy cut the raven, then use a double layer of dimensionals to attach it to the card front, placing it so that it looks like it is standing on top of the pumpkin on the right.

Inside:

Use snail to layer the remaining Pumpkin Pie cardstock and Old Olive cardstock to the inside of the card.

Use Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp a pumpkin outline from the Harvest Hellos stamp set to the lower left corner of the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Color the pumpkin with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends marker.

Use Crumb Cake ink to stamp the stem to the top of the pumpkin, then color with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker.

Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp one leaf coming from the top of the pumpkin, then color with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.

Use Memento ink to stamp the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set to the center of the Very Vanilla cardstock. Snail the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp one pumpkin leaf to the lower left corner of the envelope, then color with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.
