Tutorial: Three Special Friends

 

Each of the animals on this card are pretty cute, but put them all together and you have three very special friends.  The Woodland embossed Very Vanilla layer is the perfect backdrop for these three friends.

 

 

Cut Cardstock:

 

Assembly:

Emboss one 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Woodland embossing folder, then snail to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Snail onto the card front.

With Soft Suede ink, stamp the solid raccoon image from the Special Someone stamp set near the center of the 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the detailed raccoon image over the solid image, making sure to take the time to line it up correctly so that it matches.

Use the Crumb Cake ink to stamp the solid squirrel and mouse images to the left and right of the raccoon. Use Soft Suede ink to stamp the detailed squirrel and mouse images over the solid images.

Use Soft Suede ink to stamp two butterflies over the squirrel and mouse. See photo for placement. Color the butterflies using Light Daffodil Delight and Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends markers. Color a small patch of grass under the animals with Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.

Attach the stamped piece to the 3 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Use Dimensionals to attach this piece to the card front near the bottom. Refer to photo for placement.

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting from the Special Someone stamp set onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, then punch out with the Classic Label Punch.

Punch out another shape from a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock using the Classic Label Punch. Using your paper snips, cut this piece in half, then use snail to attach one half to the back of the greeting so that there is a slight border on each end. Use Dimensionals to attach the greeting to the card front. Refer to photo for placement.

 

Inside:

Use snail to layer the remaining piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to the inside of the card.

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set onto the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks, stamp a squirrel as you did before onto the lower left corner of this piece.

Snail the completed piece to the inside of the card.

 

 

Envelope:

Using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks, stamp a squirrel as you did before onto the lower left corner of the envelope.
