Tutorial: Fancy Fold Magnolia Card

This fancy fold card is a “card within a card” and features the Magnolia Blooms stamp set, which is not in the annual catalog but is an offering in the Beginner Brochure available through Stampin’Up. The Magnolia Lane Designer Paper and gold embossing lend to the elegance of this card.

Cut Cardstock:
  •      Card Base:
  •      Mini Card Base: Petal Pink – 7” x 3”, score long side at 3 ½”
  •      Stamped Pieces: Whisper White – 5 ¼”,  3 ¼” x 2 ¾” cut two

Directions:

Fold sides of the Petal Pink large card base inward. Snail the large piece of Designer Paper to the left side and the contrasting strip of Designer Paper to the right side.

Fold the mini card base so that it opens on the left side. Place two strips of Tear & Tape on the back right side, then attach to the narrow fold on the larger card base.

Use snail or Tear & Tape to attach a piece of Gold Metallic Edge ribbon about 22” long to the front of the mini card base, then wrap around and attach to the back of the larger card base with snail or Tear & Tape. There should be two ribbon tails about 7” long at the left edge of the card which will get tied together later. (Note – I didn’t have any gold metallic edge ribbon in my stash so this card is showing the silver edged ribbon.)

Use Versamark to stamp the large flower from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set to one of the 3 ¼” x 2 ¾” pieces of Whisper White cardstock. Sprinkle with Gold Emboss Powder and set with heat tool.

Use Versamark to stamp the ‘Birthday Wishes’ greeting from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set to the upper left of the flower. Sprinkle with Gold Emboss Powder and set with heat tool.

Use an aqua painter to color the flower with Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz ink. Snail to the front of the mini card base, covering the ribbon.

Inside of Mini Card Base:

Snail the remaining piece of Magnolia Lane Designer Paper to the right side of the inside of the mini card base.

Use Versamark to stamp the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set to the remaining 3 ¼” x 2 ¾” piece of Whisper White cardstock. Sprinkle with Gold Emboss Powder and set with heat tool.
