Tutorial: Simply Sunflowers

Sunflowers. Nothing more needs to be said. Anyone who looks at a these simple flowers know that they represent all that there is good about the summer!

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Using Memento ink, stamp one small sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the same image toward the bottom and middle right side of one of the 5″ x 3 3/4″ pieces of Whisper White cardstock.  Using the dots image from the Forever Fern stamp setstamp some background dots around the flowers with Misty Moonlight ink, stamping off once on a piece of scrap paper before stamping onto your cardstock.

Color the flowers with Stampin’ Blends using Mango Melody for the flowers, Soft Suede for the flower centers, and Old Olive for the leaves. Crop the flower on the scrap piece of cardstock with the corresponding die from the Sunflowers dies.

Use Seal to adhere the larger piece of the Designer Paper to the top of the stamped piece, then adhere onto one of the pieces of Misty Moonlight cardstock. Tie a piece of Misty Moonlight ribbon around the layers covering the seam; tie a simple knot and trim the ends. Adhere the layered piece onto the card base. Use dimensionals to attach the cropped flower to the card front – see photo for placement.

Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp the greeting from the Tasteful Touches stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Crop with the long frame die from the Ornate Frames die set. Attach the greeting to the card front with dimensionals.

Add a touch of glimmer to the flowers by brushing the Wink of Stella over the flowers.

Inside:

Adhere the Designer Paper strip to the top of the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Using Memento ink, stamp the small sunflower onto the lower left side of this piece, going off the cardstock slightly. Color the flower with Stampin’ Blends as you did for the card front. Use Misty Moonlight ink to stamp the sentiment of your choice, I used the sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. Adhere the stamped piece to the remaining piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, then adhere to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

Use Memento ink to stamp the small sunflower onto the lower left side of the envelope, going slightly off the envelope. Color the flower like you did for the card using Stampin’ Blends markers.
