Tutorial: Life Is Beautiful at Christmas

Third in my series of Life Is Beautiful cards, this card also uses one of the sweet little gnomes from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set to make this a cheery Christmas card.

Cut Cardstock:
  • Card Base: Seaside Spray – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer (front): Shimmery White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • First Layer (inside): Whisper White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Gnome and Ornament: Scraps of Whisper White

Assembly:

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the tree image from the Life is Beautiful stamp set onto the Shimmery White cardstock – be sure to leave enough room to the right of the tree for the gnome.

With Seaside Spray ink, stamp the ‘snowflake’ image from the Life Is Beautiful stamp set several times over the tree branches, and the ‘ground’ image several times underneath the tree. You may want to stamp off first before stamping onto the cardstock if your stamp pad is really juicy, so that there is just a hint of the blue color.

Use Memento ink to stamp the greeting from  the Snowman Season stamp set above the tree. Adhere to the card base using Stampin’ Seal or Multipurpose glue.

On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the gnome that has his arms up with Memento ink.

For the ornament, stamp that portion of the gnome image holding the ornament. Color as desired with Stampin Blend markers. For my card, I used Dark Cherry Cobbler on the gnome’s hat and part of the ornament, Light Shaded Spruce for the gnome’s arms and boots, Light Smoky Slate for the jingle bell on the gnome’s hat, and Dark Mango Melody for the middle portion of the ornament.

Fussy cut the gnome and ornament and adhere to the card front with dimensionals – see photo for placement.

Inside:

Using Seaside Spray ink, stamp the snowflake image several times to the top of the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp a sentiment of your choice with Memento ink. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

It’s always fun to get something ‘pretty’ in the mail and by carrying your design onto the envelope you are providing that for the recipient. Use Seaside Spray ink to stamp the snowflake image to the lower left corner of the envelope.
