Feels Like Frost Christmas Cards

Do you sometimes struggle with coming up with ideas for making cards? I think everyone has days or weeks when we are on a roll and design ideas just keep coming. Other times, we sit and stare at our supplies and draw a blank. I sure can relate to that!

The Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper is a stack of beautiful winter nature designs. The other side of the paper has silver foil and white designs which are very elegant. It was new in the catalog last year, but it’s so popular that Stampin’Up! carried it over to the current Holiday catalog. If you haven’t seen it, I would urge you to take a look at it. If you bought it last year and it’s being neglected, then I would suggest you revisit it!

Whether you want to make just one, a few, or a bunch of Christmas cards, the Feels Like Frost DSP will help you easily create gorgeous cards.

There are so many pretty designs to choose from, and I wanted to show you just how quick and easy it is to use this paper in your designs.

For these cards, I used the basic colors of Whisper White and Night Of Navy along with the Feels Like Frost DSP. You can make them as elaborate or simple as you want. For instance, for the Poinsettia card,  I chose the paper that has the evergreens and snow, and I used a  2″ strip of the silver and white design on the reverse side of the paper under the poinsettia. The DSP is layered onto Whisper White cardstock then onto a Night Of Navy card base. I made the poinsettia from Whisper White cardstock using the Poinsettia dies and added a silver foil pine branch that was cropped using the Beautiful Boughs dies. The greeting is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and was stamped with Night of Navy ink.

This pretty deer card uses two different Feels Like Frost Designer Papers layered onto a piece of Night of Navy then onto the Whisper White card base. I covered the seam with a length of Seaside Spray Metallic ribbon. The deer from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set was stamped with Memento ink and cropped with a Stitched Rectangle die. I also added a pine branch out of Silver Foil behind the deer and a blue gem as an accent.

I stamped the cute gnome from the Gnome For The Holidays stamp set with Memento ink directly onto the pine branch/snow Designer Paper and colored him with Stampin’ Blends markers. For a little extra interest, I stamped the portion of the gnome with the ornament, colored the ornament and fussy cut it out. I used a dimensional to attach it right on top of the ornament stamped on the DSP. I layered the stamped DSP onto a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock and then onto a Whisper White card base. I stamped the greeting with Memento ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock, then flagged the ends and attached it to the card front with dimensionals. I also scattered a few of the Adhesive Backed Snowflake Embellishments on the card front.

Here’s another card where I stamped the greeting directly onto the Designer Paper using Night Of Navy ink. The greeting is from the Merry Moose stamp set. I punched the moose out of Night Of Navy cardstock and just glued it to the card front. The DSP is layered onto a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock, then adhered to the Whisper White cards base. This is definitely one card that you can make in just a couple minutes!

Another very quick to make card – adhere your favorite DSP to a Night Of Navy card base. Use Night Of Navy ink to stamp one of your favorite greetings onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Crop with the Stitched Shapes circle die and layer it onto a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock that has been cropped with a coordinating scalloped circle die. For my card, I used the Layering Circles dies and the sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set. Add a couple of Rhinestones for a little sparkle.

I hope this has inspired you to create these and other cards quickly by using the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper as one of the main ingredients in your designs! The paper is gorgeous and it requires little effort to make beautiful cards that your friends and family will treasure.
