Pretty Pumpkins and Vines

If you’ve followed me at all, you know that I LOVE the Fall Season! I love the beautiful colors of nature, pumpkins, cider mills, shorter days, crisper air temps, the harvest winding down, the anticipation of the fall and winter holidays. And I love card making and crafting with the Fall season in mind!

One of the beautiful new stamp sets in the new July-December mini-catalog is the Pretty Pumpkins set, and I chose it to make this card, which is a great card for a special friend or family member and is also perfect for Thanksgiving. I also used some of the dies from the Forever Grapevine bundle, which is in the annual catalog. I hope you like this card as much as I do!

You will need the following cardstock cut as below:
  • Card Base: Old Olive – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/8″ x  3 7/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Pumpkin Pie – 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Third Layer: Crushed Curry DSP (Regals DSP) – 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • Pumpkins: Very Vanilla – 3″ x 2 1/2″
  • Leaves and Tendrils: Scraps of Mossy Meadow

Assembly:
  • Layer the Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and DSP layers onto the card front.
  • Stamp the pumpkins onto the small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Memento ink. Color the Pumpkins with Stampin’ Blends, using Dark Daffodil Delight, then Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie. Use Light Crumb Cake and Light Soft Suede for the stems and Light and Dark Old Olive for the leaves. Crop with the corresponding die, then adhere to the card front with dimensionals. See photo for placement.
  • Crop the large vine and two tendrils from the Grapevine dies out of Mossy Meadow cardstock. Crop two small leaves from the Detailed Pumpkins dies out of Mossy Meadow cardstock. Attach the vines and leaves to the card front using glue and dimensionals for one of the leaves. See photo for placement.
  • Place a few small Gilded Gems on the card front to add a little bling.
  • For the inside, stamp the sentiment onto the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink. Stamp the larger vine/flower image onto the lower right corner of this piece using Mossy meadow ink. Color the leaves with Light and Dark Old Olive and the flower with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.
  • For the envelope, stamp the smaller vine/flower image onto the lower-left corner of the envelope using Mossy Meadow ink. Color with Light and Dark Old Olive and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
