Last-Minute Valentine Treat Box

Here’s a very simple Valentine treat box that’s quick to make. It holds four Hershey’s chocolate hearts.

  • To make the box bottom, you’ll need a piece of cardstock that measures 6 3/4″ x 2 3/4″.
  • Score all four sides at 5/8″. For my sample, I used Blushing Bride. Use a bone folder to crease the score lines.
  • Cut on the score lines up on the long side to the first horizontal score line, forming small tabs on each corner. Repeat on the other side. Refer to the photo below. (Please note that the cardstock in the picture is white, not pink).
  • Place Tear & Tape or glue to the small tabs, fold and form the box.
  • Cut two strips of Sweet Talk DSP at 5 3/8″ x 1/2″ and two strips at 1 3/8″ x 1/2″. Glue the strips to the sides of the box bottom.
  • Place glue dots on the backs of four Hershey chocolate hearts and attach to the inside of the box bottom.

  • For the top of the box, cut a piece of Window Sheet that measures 6 5/8″ x 2 5/8″.
  • Score all four sides at 5/8″. It may takes several times to score the Window Sheet as it is much thicker than cardstock.
  • Cut out the small corner squares formed by the score lines. Fold on the score lines and burnish with a bone folder. Refer to photo above.
  • Insert the top into the box bottom, with the edges INSIDE the box bottom.
  • Wrap a piece of ribbon around the box and tie into a bow. (I used red ribbon).
  • Use Real Red ink to stamp the greeting onto a 1/2″ strip of Basic White cardstock, trim the ends. If desired, place a tiny heart cropped from Real Red cardstock. I used the Sweet Heart Dies which is bundles with the Sweet Talk stamp set. Attach to the box top with dimensionals.

If desired, you can use coordinating cardstock instead of a window sheet to make the box top – you just won’t be able to see the candy inside. However, there is more space to decorate the top!
