For my video this week, I wanted to try my hand at designing some Thanksgiving cards with the Painted Pheasant stamp set. There are only a few images in this set, with the pheasant being the focal piece. Although I made these cards specifically for the holiday, they would also be great for a masculine birthday card. The Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper is so festive for a Fall card, I wanted to incorporate it into one of my designs. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the die-cut leaves from the Aspen Tree dies. Cut them out of foil paper and you add a touch of elegance as well!

Here are the cardstock requirements for the easel card:
- Card Base: Mossy Meadow – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ & 2 1/8″
- Second Piece of Card Base: Mossy Meadow – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
- First Layer (front): Basic Black – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- DSP Panels: Rustic Harvest DSP -Pumpkin design – 3 1/2″ x 2 1/8″; Green Pattern- 2 1/8″ x 1 5/8″; Yellow Pattern – 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″; Rust Pattern – 2 3/8″ x 1 3/4″
- Gold Foil Circle: Brushed Metallic Gold Foil Paper 3″ x 3″ (use the lightest color)
- Pheasant: Very Vanilla – 4″ x 3 1/2″
- Inside: Very Vanilla – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- ‘Bumper’ Strips: Mossy Meadow – 5 1/2″ x 1 1/4″; Yellow Pattern Rustic Harvest DSP – 5 1/4″ x 1″; Greeting – Very Vanilla – 4 3/4″ x 3/4″
For the pheasant with leaves card, you will need the following cardstock:
- Card Base: Starry Sky – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
- First Layer: Very Vanilla 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
- Pheasant: Very Vanilla – 4″ x 3 1/2″
- Greeting: Very Vanilla – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
- Ground Leaves: Scraps of Evening Evergreen
- Leaves: Scraps of each of the three colors of Brushed Metallic Foil Paper
