FB Live Recap: Three Evergreen Elegance Christmas Cards

I’ve been so anxious to start using some of the new Christmas stamp sets that I just couldn’t wait any longer! The Evergreen Elegance stamp set has such lovely images in it that it is truly a joy to work with.

For my Facebook Live video this week, I made three Christmas cards with this set, each looking very different from the other depending on how I used the images. For one card, I used blender brushes to create a sky background; for another, I used the Evergreen Forest embossing folder on gold foil; and for the third card, I used the tree punch that coordinates with the stamp set. I love the simple yet elegant beauty of the pine tree images!

If you weren’t able to join me on Tuesday, you can view the replay here.

FB Live Recap: Quick & Easy Beauty of Friendship Cards

Transitioning to the Autumn Season, I wanted to create some quick and easy cards. This time of the year seems to get so busy for me – garden beds to put to sleep for the coming winter, washing the windows one more time before the snow flies, changing out seasonal home decor, baking bread with all that zucchini from the garden, and yes, getting ready for the holidays!

I love to make highly stepped-up cards with multiple layers or fun folds and lots of die cuts and embellishments, but sometimes I only have a bit of time, so I need quick and easy cards designs. The Beauty of the Earth DSP is perfect for this – so many pretty background designs to choose from.

For my Facebook Live video this week, I tried to show the versatility of the DSP and how quickly it translates to beautiful yet easy cards to make. While my original intent was to make fall-themed cards, the DSP with the blue trees just begged for a Christmas card design!  I hope you are inspired by the beauty of this DSP as well!

Frightfully Cute Be Dazzling Spider Web

If you watched my Facebook Live presentation last week, I promised you more project ideas using the Frightfully Cute bundle. Here’s one using the Be Dazzling Specialty Designer Paper that is free during the month of September as a Sale-a-bration free item choice. I just love it for the spider web on this card! It really dresses up the traditional orange and black colors of Halloween.

  • The card base is Basic Black of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I built all of the other layers and embellishments first before attaching them to the card base.
  • I cropped the spider web from a 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper and glued it onto a 2 1/2″ square of Basic Black cardstock. I then glued this onto a 2 1/2″ square of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, making sure to turn it 90 degrees – refer to photo for placement.
  • I stamped the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Memento ink, then cropped it with the label die in the Frightfully Cute bundle. I used dimensionals to attach it to the spider web.
  • For this step, lay the spider web piece onto a 5″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, but don’t adhere it yet. Place it near the top of the Basic White piece so you have an idea where to stamp three spiders using Memento ink. Make sure to stagger the stamped images to add a little interest. Refer to photo for placement. Once you have stamped the spiders, you are ready to attach the spider web piece with dimensionals. Adhere the Basic White piece onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of orange and black striped Cute Halloween DSP. Tie a piece of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around this piece then attach it to the card base.
  • For the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting and several spiders onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, then adhered it to the inside of the card.

  • I always stamp a small design onto the envelope just to make it a little more fun for the recipient (and probably the postal carrier!). If you wish to decorate the envelope, stamp a spider onto the lower-left corner of the envelope or several spiders on the back flap of the envelope.

Make sure to check back here next week as I will be posting a “pretty” Halloween card using this set!

I’ve listed the products used for this card below. As always, I truly appreciate you choosing me as your Stampin’Up! demonstrator if you need to purchase any items.

Frightfully Cute Spider Card

Here’s a very simple but cute Halloween card made with the little spider image from the Frightfully Cute stamp set. I added some red rhinestones for a little bling as well as the gingham ribbon and Cute Halloween DSP.

To make the card front, use Memento ink to stamp the spider image four times on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of  Basic White cardstock, staggering the images. Refer to the photo for placement. Use a black marker to draw a black line upward from the spider’s silk. Layer a 4″ x 1 1/2″ piece of multicolor dotted Cute Halloween DSP to the top of this piece, covering the ends on the spider’s silk. Stamp the greeting onto the bottom right side using Pumpkin Pie ink.

Layer the stamped piece onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. Tie a piece of the Black and White gingham ribbon around this piece over the seam of the DSP. Adhere this to a card base of Pumpkin Pie which is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.

Add small red rhinestones for the spiders’ heads.

For the inside of the card, layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8 piece of Basic Black cardstock to the inside of the card. Stamp the sentiment onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock using Pumpkin Pie ink. Stamp two spiders to the upper left side of this piece using Memento ink.

Adhere a 1/2″ x 4″ matching strip of DSP to the top of the stamped piece. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, use Memento ink to stamp the spider image onto the lower left side of the envelope.

Stay tuned for more Halloween cards and project ideas coming in the next few weeks!

FB Live Recap: Frightfully Cute Card and Mini Hershey Candy Box

For my Facebook Live video this week, I made a Halloween card and Mini Hershey Candy treat box. I really enjoyed designing these projects since the Frightfully Cute bundle is so much fun to work with, and of course, I love Fall and all the holidays and celebrations that come with it!

For the card, I chose to use the moon image from the To The Moon stamp set since it reminds me of the big full moon when it rises early in the evening and appears so large. I also used the cropped tree from the Beautiful Trees die set because I wanted it to look larger in the foreground.

If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here. Join me every Tuesday at 2  p.m. ET on my Facebook Group page for new video demonstrations.  Also, be sure to follow me on Pinterest for more inspiration.

Nature’s Beauty Fall Card Idea

Yes, I know. I used some “retired” products for this card. My bad.

But I still wanted to share it with you in case you have these products – and also, you can substitute a different embossing folder and label die if you’d like.

I live in an area very close to a state park that has a rather large herd of deer, so they are frequently seen in my yard – usually dining on my flowers or bushes. Yes, they can be destructive to the garden, but they are just so pretty!

For this card, I used the deer image from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set stamped onto a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink. I then fussy cut the deer and adhered it to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, which was cropped with the retired Stitched Labels dies. This, in turn, was adhered to a larger cropped piece from the same die set out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the retired Woodlands embossing folder and adhered that to a Pumpkin Pie card base. I then attached the deer piece with dimensionals.

I added a few small leaves out of Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider cardstock, which I cropped using the Beautiful Leaves dies set.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment with Pumpkin Pie ink and also a small leaf image on the lower-left corner with Cinnamon Cider ink. I repeated the small leaf image on the corner of the envelope as well.

Next week I will begin sharing with you some Halloween cards and projects using current products from the new mini catalog. Be sure to stop back then!

Thanksgiving Pumpkins

Did you see the Simply Elegant Detailed Pumpkins card I made a couple of weeks ago? You can view it here if you missed it.

I pulled out those lovely detailed dies again to create this beautiful Thanksgiving card. With the alternate colors, it has a much different look to it than the other card I made. The Gilded Gems are one of my favorite embellishments, and I love the way they look on this card!

To begin, emboss a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive cardstock with the Bark 3D embossing folder. Color a piece of White Crinkled seam binding ribbon with a Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend marker and tie it around the bottom of the embossed cardstock. Adhere to the card base, which is an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.

Crop a large detailed die pumpkin from a scrap of Copper Foil paper. Crop the smaller pumpkin from a scrap of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Stamp the detailed pumpkin image onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock with Cajun Craze ink and crop with the corresponding die.  Glue the copper pumpkin onto the cardfront. Adhere the other two pumpkins with dimensionals. Refer to photo for placement.

Crop two of the small pumpkin leaves from a scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock and glue to the card front to the right of the pumpkins, over the ribbon.

Use Cajun Craze ink to stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and crop with one of the Stitched Rectangle dies. Adhere to the top of the card front with dimensionals.

Add a large and two medium Gilded Gems to the card front. Refer to photo for placement.

For the inside of the card, adhere another 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive cardstock to the inside of the card. Use Cajun Craze ink to stamp the sentiment onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of very vanilla cardstock. Stamp the small vine/flower image onto the lower-left corner of this piece with Mossy Meadow ink. Color the leaf and vines with Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and the flower with Dark Daffodil Delight. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Decorate the lower-left corner of the envelope by repeating the vine/flower image as you did for the inside of the card.
