FB Live Recap: Color & Contour Cards Plus a Mini Triangle Treat Box

The Color & Contour bundle is one of the new products in the annual catalog that I purchased a few months ago but haven’t played with until this week. The images in it are quite simple but are very pretty, and you can choose to use the solid stamps to color your images or just use the coloring tools of your choice to color the flowers.

For my samples, I used Stampin’ Blends to color the pink flower and leaves. For these projects, I also used some of the different patterns of the Expressions in Ink DSP as well as Gold Foil to embellish each card and the treat box. One thing that I love about the treat box is that it only takes one 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Paper to make the box, and they make up very quickly!

For the pink flower card you will need the following cardstock:
  • Card Base: Magenta Madness – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer (front): Expression in Ink Designer Series Paper – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Stamped Piece: Basic White – 4 1/4″ x 3″
  • Embellishments: Scraps of Magenta Madness, Expressions in Ink (dark green/foil), Gold Foil
  • Inside Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4 “
  • Inside Strips: Magenta Madness – 4″ x 3/4″;  Expressions in Ink DSP – 4″ x 5/8″

For the cards with the three flowers you will need the following cardstock:
  • Card Base: Pale Papaya – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer (front): Expressions in Ink DSP (Pale Papaya print) – 5 3/8″ x 3 1/2″
  • Flowers: Basic White – 2 1/4″ x 6 1/2″
  • Leaves: Gold Foil scraps
  • Inside Layer: Basic White – 5 1/3″ x 4 1/8″
  • Inside Strips: Pale Papaya – 5 3/8″ x 5/8″; Expressions in Ink DSP – 5 38″ x 1/2″

Here’s what you need for the mini triangle treat box:
  • Designer Series Paper – 6″ x 6″, score at 7/8″, 2 1/2″,4″ 5 1/2″; turn and score the next side at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″.  For this project, I used one of the flowered patterns of Expressions in Ink DSP, but you can make it using any 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP that you like. It’s a great way to use up some of your stash!
  • Greeting: Scrap of Basic White
  • Leaf: Scraps of Gold Foil

The products I used for these projects are listed below. If you would like to add any of these to your craft collection, you can shop with me here. I appreciate your support as it helps me to provide you with ideas for current products. For the mini treat box, I also used a retired corner punch.

Pretty Pumpkins for a Friend

When I started playing with the Pretty Pumpkins bundle, I fell in love with the Fall season all over again, not that I needed a nudge – Fall is my favorite season! Did you see my post last week using this set? Here’s another card using this set along with the Grapevine dies. I think you’ll agree that it is gorgeous!

Cut the cardstock as follows:
  • Card Base: Cajun Craze – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  • Decorative Strip: Regals Designer Series Paper (Cajun Craze) – 5″ x 3/4″
  • Pumpkins: Scraps of Very Vanilla
  • Vines: Scraps of Mossy Meadow

Assembly:
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the upper left side of one of the larger pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink. Adhere the DSP strip to the bottom of this piece.
  • Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the longer vine/flower image to the left side of the Very Vanilla cardstock just slightly above the DSP. Stamp the smaller vine/flower image near the right side. Color the leaves and stems with Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends markers and the flowers with Dark Daffodil Delight. Adhere this piece to the card base.
  • Stamp the pumpkin image twice onto scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock using Cajun Craze ink. Color the pumpkins with Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends, the stems with Light and Dark Crumb Cake, and the leaves with Light and Dark Old Olive. Crop the images with the coordinating die from the Detailed Pumpkins dies. Fussy cut the two smaller pumpkins from one of the images and use dimensionals to place them directly on top of the other pumpkins image. Attach this to the card front with dimensionals slightly overlapping the stamped vine/flower images.
  • Using the large vine die from the Grapevine dies, crop one vine from Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Cut a small portion of the vine and attach to the card front with glue, tucking the end under the right side of the pumpkins. Crop the smaller leaf from the Detailed Pumpkins dies and glue it to the card front to the left of the pumpkins on top of the DSP strip. See photo for placement.
  • Adhere a few of the bronze color Brushed Metallic Adhesive Baked Dots to the front of the card Refer to photo for placement.
  • For the inside of the card, stamp the small vine/flower image onto the lower-left corner of the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Color as you did for the front of the card. Stamp a sentiment of your choice onto this piece, or leave it blank to write your own message. Adhere to the inside of the card.
  • Decorate the lower-left corner of the envelope with the small vine/flower image as well and color as you did for the card.

Check back here next week when I will be posting another card using the other images and dies from this set!

The products for this card are listed below. Please shop with me here if you would like to purchase any of them. Thank you – I truly appreciate your support!

FB Live Recap: Cards “To Die For”!

Making cards often follows a predictable pattern. Stamps, color, punches, and die cuts are the tools of choice – not that there’s anything wrong with that! There’s a set of dies that are in the annual catalog called “Iconic Dies.” They seem to be orphans since there’s no particular stamp set that coordinates with them. With that in mind, for my Facebook Live video this week I’ve used the Iconic Dies to create three different cards to show you the versatility of this set even when used all by itself. There are a variety of dies in the set so each card has a totally different look to it.

For the “Mushroom” card, you will need the following cardstock:

  • Card Base: Crushed Curry – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Cajun Craze – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  • Die Cut Pieces: Scraps of Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, and Copper Foil

For the “Bird” card, you will need the following cardstock:

  • Card Base: Cinnamon Cider – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Pale Papaya – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer (Inside): Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Die Cut Pieces: Scraps of Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Polished Pink, and Basic White

For the card with the “Flowers,” you will need the following:

  • Card Base: Garden Green – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First layer: Crumb Cake – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer (Inside): Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Die Cut Pieces: Scraps of Polished Pink, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight

Here is a list of all of the products I used for these cards. Should you wish to purchase any of them, you can shop with me here. Don’t forget that you can earn Sale-a-bration products from now through September 30th!

And I love card making and crafting with the Fall season in mind!

One of the beautiful new stamp sets in the new July-December mini-catalog is the Pretty Pumpkins set, and I chose it to make this card, which is a great card for a special friend or family member and is also perfect for Thanksgiving. Assembly:
  • Layer the Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and DSP layers onto the card front.

See photo for placement.

FB Live Recap: To The Moon Trio

I wanted to switch up my Facebook Live video this week, so I pulled out the To The Moon stamp set, which seems to be overlooked in the annual catalog. The images of the moon really are quite nice, and I foresee that I will be using the large image for Halloween cards and Christmas cards as well!

If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here. Join me every Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET for a video where I demonstrate a few projects, tips, and techniques.

The fun-fold card is quite simple and quick to make. I also demonstrated a quick technique when making shaker cards that takes less time than when we have made them in the past. For the phases of the moon card, I used some of the new Silver Foil Specialty Paper and it makes a lovely addition to the theme of the card.

Here’s the cardstock requirements for the fun-fold card:

  • Card Base: Night of Navy – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ & 2 1/8″
  • Front Flap: Regals Night Of Navy DSP – 5 3/8″ x 2″
  • Moon: Basic White – 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • Inside: Basic White: 5 1/4″ x 4″

For the phases of the moon card, you’ll need the following:

  • Card Base: Basic White – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Silver Foil Specialty Paper (medium color) – 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Stamped Layer: Basic White – 4″ x 3″
  • Greetings: Basic White 1/2″ x 4″, cut two
  • Inside (First Layer): – Night Of Navy – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Inside(Second layer):– Basic White 5″ x 3 3/4″

For the Shaker Card the following cardstock is needed:

  • Card Base: Misty Moonlight – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  • Moon: Basic White – 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″

The supplies I used for these cards are listed here. Please note that the Silver Foil Specialty Paper and the Cute Stars Adhesive Backed Sequins will not be available until August 3rd, so I am currently unable to add them to the list – however, the product number for the Silver Foil Paper is #156457 and the Cute Star Sequins is #156484. Celebrate Sunflowers Quartet

I made a Facebook Live video last week demonstrating how to make four cards very quickly by stamping a sheet of cardstock then cutting it down to make four card fronts. For the video, I used the Sweet As A Peach stamp set which has solid images. If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here. For the example I’m posting here, I used the Celebrate Sunflowers set, which has outline images that need to be colored.

Whether you use solid images or outline images, the concept is the same. Stamp the larger piece of cardstock, then trim to make four card fronts. Since I layered the card fronts onto a coordinating color card base, I trimmed the Very Vanilla cardstock to 10 3/4″ x 8 1/4″ before stamping.

I used memento ink to stamp the images onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then colored them with Stampin’ Blends using the following colors: Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light and Dark Old Olive, Dark Crumb Cake, and Light Soft Suede.

After cutting the cardstock to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, I embossed each of the four pieces with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. I adhered each piece to a Crushed Curry card base of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.

To finish the front of the cards, I stamped a greeting onto a piece of very Vanilla cardstock, cropped with a die from either the Stitched So Sweetly or Stitched Rectangle die sets. I added the greetings onto a coordinating cropped piece of Crushed Curry cardstock, then used dimensionals to adhere them to the card front.

For the inside of the cards, I simply stamped the small sunflower image onto the lower-left corner of a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, again using Memento ink and coloring as I did for the card front. I stamped a sentiment with Memento ink on some of the cards, and left others blank to write my own message.

I decorated the envelope by stamping the small sunflower to the lower-left corner of the envelope and repeated the coloring as before.

I hope you give this technique a try. It’s really a time saver if you’d like to make several cards in a small amount of time.

Here are the products I used for this set of cards:

FB Live Recap: Sweet As A Peach Quartet

I revisited the Sweet As A Peach stamp set this week for my Facebook Live. I was inspired by Connie Trubey and wanted to try this technique! It’s easiest (quickest!) with stamp sets that have more solid images, but it can be used with outline images if you enjoy coloring.

The cards are easy to make and gorgeous as is, or you can glam them up with embellishments as you choose.

To make four cards, you will need the following cardstock:

  • Card Bases: Two pieces of Calypso Coral 11″ x 8 1/2″, cut at 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer (front): Basic White – 10 3/4″ x 8 1/4″ (you will cut this in half both ways after stamping and embossing, 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″)
  • First Layer (inside): Basic White – four pieces at 5 3/8′ x 4 1/8″
  • Greetings: Scraps of Calypso Coral and Basic White

Blended Quiet Meadow

On my Facebook Live video this week I made three cards with the Quiet Meadow Bundle. I featured the stamps on one card, the dies on another card, and combined both for the third card which was an easel card in sepia tones. If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here.

This set is so much fun to design with that I made this card using Blender Brushes on all of the die cuts and placed them on an embossed layer of Shimmer Vellum. I love the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

Here’s the cardstock you’ll need for this card:
  • Card Base: Fresh Freesia – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Basic White – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • All Flowers and Leaf Stems: Scraps of Basic White
  • Inside Strip: Fresh Freesia – 4 1/8″ x 1/2″

Assembly:
  • Emboss the Shimmer Vellum with the Ornate Floral embossing folder. Use a few touches of glue to adhere it to one of the pieces of Basic White cardstock.
  • Crop the flower, one flower center, and the leaf stems out of Basic White cardstock. For my card, I made two of the thin leaf stems and one of the larger flat leaf stems, and I chose three of the flower stems. I also cropped one each of the butterfly dies.
  • Use your Blender Brushes to apply color to all of the cropped pieces. For the flowers, I used Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, and Fresh Freesia. For the large Polished Pink flower, I also used a very light touch to color one of the cropped flower centers. I used Garden Green ink to brush onto the flower stems and the thin leaf stems and Granny Apple Green for the larger flat leaf stem. I used Mango Melody for both of the butterflies, applying more color to the full butterfly and just a touch to the half butterfly.
  • Arrange the flowers and glue them in place onto the Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum front. Use dimensionals to attach the butterflies.
  • Apply Wink of Stella to the butterflies and small Pearls to their bodies.
  • Add In-Color Jewels to some of the flowers.
  • Tie a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the completed piece so that the bow is over all of the stems. Adhere the completed piece to the card front.

For the Inside:
  • Use Fresh Freesia ink to stamp a sentiment to the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • Adhere the strip of Fresh Fresh Freesia cardstock near the top of this piece, then adhere to the inside of the card.

Envelope:
  • If desired, use Fresh Freesia ink to stamp part of the flower spray or the large flower image to the lower left corner of the envelope.

I’ve listed all of the products I used for this card below. If you would like to purchase any of them, you can shop with me here. Thank you so much for choosing me as your Stampin’Up! demonstrator!

Simple Sweet Strawberry

I’m really enjoying making cards and projects with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle! The strawberry images are so cheery, they brighten up any project. I made a cute treat basket and card on my Facebook Live last Tuesday. If you missed the video, it’s on my group Facebook page, Friends Who Like Time4Stamping.

You can watch the replay of the video here.

I’m sharing another simple card I made with the set. I used the strawberry image to create my own background paper, then used the simple flower sprig as the focal point. I added one strawberry popped up with dimensionals to finish it off.

Here are the easy directions for this card:
  • The card base is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Layer a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock on top
  • Stamp a background of strawberries onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of  Daffodil Delight cardstock. Use Real Red ink for the strawberry outline and Poppy Parade ink for the solid strawberry image. Use garden Green ink for the calyx. Adhere this piece to the card front.

  • Stamp the strawberry flower sprig onto a 3 5/8″ x 2 5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Color the leaves with Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends marker and the flower centers with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends marker. Stamp the greeting onto the upper right corner of this piece with Garden Green ink. Adhere this to a 3 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock, then attach to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Stamp a strawberry onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Real Red ink for the outline and Poppy Parade ink for the solid image. Use the coordinating punch to crop the strawberry.
  • Stamp the calyx outline with Garden Green ink onto a scrap of Granny Apple Green cardstock, crop with the coordinating punch, and glue to the top of the strawberry. Attach the completed strawberry to the card front with dimensionals.

For the inside:
  • Stamp a strawberry onto the lower left corner of a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8 piece of Basic White cardstock. Use Real red ink for the strawberry outline, Poppy Parade ink for the solid strawberry image and Garden Green for the solid calyx image. Stamp a sentiment if desired or leave blank to write your own message.

Envelope:
  • Stamp a strawberry as you did for the inside onto the lower-left corner of the envelope. As an alternative, stamp the flower sprig onto the envelope instead of the strawberry as you did for the card front.

Here are the products I used to create this card. Shop with me here if you would like to purchase any of them or other items, I truly appreciate your support!
