Tutorial: Elegant Iris

Lots of layers are the ingredient that add to the elegance of this card. Combine with gold foil and gold embossing of the focal point, and this card becomes even more stunning!

Cut Cardstock:

Assembly:

Snail one piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Very Vanilla cardstock to the card base, then snail the embossed piece of Purple Posy cardstock to the card front.

Snail the 4″ x 3″ piece of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper to the 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Purple Posy cardstock, then attach to the card front with dimensionals.

Rub the 3 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the embossing buddy to cut down on static. Then, using Versamark ink, stamp the iris outline stamp onto this piece, sprinkle with gold emboss powder and set with your heat tool.

Use an aqua painter to color the flowers with Highland Heather ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink. Crop this piece with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and snail to the gold foil scalloped oval. Attach to the card front with dimensionals.

Tie a small bow with the tri-color ribbon and attach to the card front with a glue dot. See photo for placement.

Inside:

Rub the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the embossing buddy.

Use Versamark ink to stamp the sentiment from the Forever Lovely stamp set, sprinkle with gold emboss powder and set with your heat tool.

Snail the 1/2″ strip of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper to the top of this piece. Tie a piece of gold cord around the Designer Paper strip and tie into a small bow. (I used Stampin’Up gold cord which is now retired. If you do not have any, as an alternative you could snail a narrow 1/8″ strip of gold foil paper to the center of the Designer Paper strip.)

Snail the finished piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:

To decorate the envelope, use the leaf stem from the Free As A Bird stamp set. Rub the envelope with the embossing buddy then use Versamark ink to stamp the image to the lower left corner of the envelope. Sprinkle with gold emboss powder and set with your heat tool. Color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink using an aqua painter.
