FB Live Recap: Stationery Box

For my Facebook Live video this week, I demonstrated how to make this stationery box that would be great for a Christmas gift or small gift for any occasion. I used the new Ever Eden Designer Paper that coordinates with the Eden’s Garden bundle, which will be in the new mini catalog coming out in January 2022. The great news is that these products are an early release, and you can order this bundle and coordinating products now!

Although I am highlighting the Ever Eden DSP,  this project could be made using any of your favorite Designer Papers and coordinating cardstock – the possibilities are endless.

I will be sending an email to everyone on my email list with the directions for all of the cards, gift cards, and gift tags that I had inside the stationery box. If you’d like to receive it, please make sure you’re on my email list. You can sign up at the box on the right side of this page.

The box is not hard to make. If you missed the video with the directions, you can view the replay here.

Merry Christmas Trees and Northern Light Technique

On my October 19th Facebook Live video, I demonstrated the Northern Lights Technique. It’s a fun technique to use and gives stunning results! I’ve used the same technique again on this card, as well as gold and silver embossing. If you need a refresher on how to do the technique, you can view the video here.

  • The card base is Misty Moonlight, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • The first layer is a piece of Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Using the Northern Lights technique, which is demonstrated here, apply Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Magenta Madness ink with separate sponges to the upper center portion of the cardstock. Fill in the rest of the cardstock by sponging Misty Moonlight ink onto it to the desired darkness you want.
  • Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the bare tree image from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set 5-6 times over the sponged piece.
  • Make sure that all of the sponged ink has dried, then stamp the tiny dots image from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set several times over the top of the trees using Versamark ink. Apply Silver Emboss Powder, then set with the heat tool. Adhere this piece to the card base.
  • Use Versamark ink to stamp the greeting from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set onto a 5/8″ strip of Basic White cardstock. Apply Gold Emboss Powder, then set with the heat tool. Use your paper snips to flag the ends of the strip.
  • Using Versamark ink, stamp the tree image from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Apply Gold Emboss Powder, then set with the heat tool. Fussy cut the tree and then adhere to the card front with dimensionals. Adhere the greeting to the card front with dimensionals, tucking the left side under the tree, Refer to photo for placement.
  • For the inside, use Misty Moonlight ink to stamp the sentiment from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set, and Early Espresso ink to stamp the bare tree image from the Beauty if Friendship stamp set. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

  • Repeat the bare tree image onto the lower-left corner of the envelope using Early Espresso ink.

FB Live Recap – Arctic Bears & the Northern Lights Technique

If you know me at all, you know I absolutely LOVE Polar Bears! Whenever we go to the zoo, I could spend all of my time watching the polar bears. Seriously. If I could have one as a pet, I would.

Ok, so you get the picture, I really do love polar bears. Imagine how excited I was when I saw the Arctic Bears Bundle that Stampin’Up! has in the mini Holiday catalog! I’ve been wanting to play with this set, but with the summer weather and all the flower gardens still putting on a show, it was a bit of a disconnect to work with wintery scenes. Now that the Fall season is upon us and the temperatures are getting a little cooler, I couldn’t wait any longer!

For my video this week, I made three different cards using the Arctic Bears Bundle. I also incorporated a couple of other sets as well as used the Northern Lights technique. I made two of the cards into Christmas cards, and I made one a “Thinking of You” card. They could easily be made into winter birthday cards as well. I had a blast designing these cards and hope you like them!

Join me every Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET on my Facebook Group page, Friends Who Like Time4Stamping, where I demonstrate projects and techniques using Stampin’Up! products. If you missed this week’s video, you can view it here.

Welcoming Woods & Frightfully Cute Bats

Halloween will soon be upon us! While pumpkins and Jack o’ Lanterns are usually what comes to mind when Halloween is mentioned, for this card, I changed it up a bit and used the little bat image from the Frightfully Cute stamp set. In late summer and early Autumn especially, in the evening just before sundown, the little bats fly among the treetops in my neighborhood chasing insects. That inspired me to use the trees from the Welcoming Woods stamp set. I love how they “pop” against the blended yellow/orange background. While I’m not really a fan of bats, I must admit I like the way they look on this card!

Very little cardstock is required for this card:

  • Card Base: Very Vanilla – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • First Layer: Basic Black- 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, cut two
  • Second Layer: Very Vanilla –  5 1/4″ x 4″, cut two
  • Greeting: Scrap of Basic White

Assembly:
  • Adhere one piece of the Basic Black cardstock to the card front and one on the inside.
  • Using a Blender Brush, create the background on one piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and Pumpkin Pie inks. Use a light touch when applying the ink – you can always add more if you want the color darker. Start with the Daffodil Delight ink, then add a little Crushed Curry. When you are satisfied with the depth of color, add a little Pumpkin Pie ink. Refer to the photo for color suggestions.
  • Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the tree image from the Welcoming Woods stamp set onto the blended background.
  • Using Cajun Craze ink, stamp the tiny leaves image several times among the trees. Refer to photo for placement.
  • Use Memento ink to stamp three bats flying around the trees, and the little cat in the lower-left corner looking at the trees. Adhere the stamped piece to the card front.
  • Use Memento ink to stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and crop it with the label die from the Frightful Tags die set. Adhere the greeting to the card front with dimensional.

For the inside:
  • Use Memento ink to stamp the sentiment and bats onto the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Refer to photo for placement. Adhere the completed piece to the inside of the card.

Envelope:
  • If desired, stamp a couple of bats onto the lower-left corner of the envelope using Memento ink.

I really enjoy all the Halloween festivities and decorations, but I must say that this card really appeals to me since it is more “pretty” than cute or “spooky.” Maybe it’s just the lovely blended background or the pretty trees and falling leaves,  but I just get drawn in when I look at it!

Be sure to check out the other cards I’ve made using this set!

I’ve been so anxious to start using some of the new Christmas stamp sets that I just couldn’t wait any longer! The Evergreen Elegance stamp set has such lovely images in it that it is truly a joy to work with.

For my Facebook Live video this week, I made three Christmas cards with this set, each looking very different from the other depending on how I used the images. FB Live Recap: Quick & Easy Beauty of Friendship Cards

Transitioning to the Autumn Season, I wanted to create some quick and easy cards. This time of the year seems to get so busy for me – garden beds to put to sleep for the coming winter, washing the windows one more time before the snow flies, changing out seasonal home decor, baking bread with all that zucchini from the garden, and yes, getting ready for the holidays!

I love to make highly stepped-up cards with multiple layers or fun folds and lots of die cuts and embellishments, but sometimes I only have a bit of time, so I need quick and easy cards designs. The Beauty of the Earth DSP is perfect for this – so many pretty background designs to choose from.

For my Facebook Live video this week, I tried to show the versatility of the DSP and how quickly it translates to beautiful yet easy cards to make. While my original intent was to make fall-themed cards, the DSP with the blue trees just begged for a Christmas card design!  I hope you are inspired by the beauty of this DSP as well!

Here are the cardstock requirements for each of the cards:

  • Card Base: Cinnamon Cider – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″

  • First Layer (inside): Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″

Frightfully Cute Be Dazzling Spider Web

If you watched my Facebook Live presentation last week, I promised you more project ideas using the Frightfully Cute bundle. Here’s one using the Be Dazzling Specialty Designer Paper that is free during the month of September as a Sale-a-bration free item choice. I just love it for the spider web on this card! It really dresses up the traditional orange and black colors of Halloween.

  • The card base is Basic Black of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I built all of the other layers and embellishments first before attaching them to the card base.
  • I cropped the spider web from a 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper and glued it onto a 2 1/2″ square of Basic Black cardstock. I then glued this onto a 2 1/2″ square of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, making sure to turn it 90 degrees – refer to photo for placement.
  • I stamped the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Memento ink, then cropped it with the label die in the Frightfully Cute bundle. I used dimensionals to attach it to the spider web.
  • For this step, lay the spider web piece onto a 5″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, but don’t adhere it yet. Place it near the top of the Basic White piece so you have an idea where to stamp three spiders using Memento ink. Make sure to stagger the stamped images to add a little interest. Refer to photo for placement. Once you have stamped the spiders, you are ready to attach the spider web piece with dimensionals. Adhere the Basic White piece onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of orange and black striped Cute Halloween DSP. Tie a piece of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around this piece then attach it to the card base.
  • For the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting and several spiders onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, then adhered it to the inside of the card.

  • I always stamp a small design onto the envelope just to make it a little more fun for the recipient (and probably the postal carrier!). If you wish to decorate the envelope, stamp a spider onto the lower-left corner of the envelope or several spiders on the back flap of the envelope.

Make sure to check back here next week as I will be posting a “pretty” Halloween card using this set!

I’ve listed the products used for this card below. As always, I truly appreciate you choosing me as your Stampin’Up! demonstrator if you need to purchase any items.
