Seasonal Branches – Simple Christmas Card

The Seasonal Branches Bundle is one of the bundles in the new 2023-2024 annual catalog, and I love it because it is one of those sets that is very versatile. I made two cards on my Facebook Live video on April 18 that highlight the use of this set for a Spring/Summer card and a Fall card. If you missed the video, you can watch the replay here.

Today, I wanted to share an idea for this set to make a very simple Christmas card. Although it is simple, just a touch of color on a white base makes it a bit more elegant. It is also a card that you can “mass produce” quickly if you want to make a lot of the same card.

  • To begin, Emboss a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock with the Basics Dots folder and adhere it to a Basic White card base that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • Crop one large and two small branches out of Pebbled Path cardstock using the Seasonal Branches Dies. Glue them onto the card front, arranging them into a tree formation. Refer to the photo for placement.
  • Using Memento ink, stamp the large berries image onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, and color the berries with the light Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends. Adhere to the card front over the tree branches using dimensionals.
  • Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and crop with the die from the Timeless Arrangements die set. Attach to the card front with dimensionals. I used a greeting from the Inspired Thought stamp set, which is retiring very soon. If you don’t have this set, you can substitute a simple Christmas greeting stamp that you have.

  • For the inside, stamp a sentiment onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento ink,  then adhere to the inside of the card. Again, I used a sentiment from the retiring Inspired Thoughts stamp set, but substitute a sentiment of your choice.

I hope that this shows you to think outside the box a bit with this stamp set and that you can make it work for you throughout the year for many different occasions.

At the time of this writing, the new products will not be available for order until May 2nd. I have listed the order numbers for them, as well as the current products used for this card.

  • Seasonal Branches Bundle – 161365
  • Timeless Arrangements Die Set – 161525
  • Pebbled Path Cardstock – 161722

FB Live Recap: On The Ocean

When I first saw the On The Ocean stamp set in the Jan-April 2023 mini-catalog, I was drawn to it, but I hesitated to purchase it because I thought it would be long gone after the mini-catalog retired at the end of the month. As a demonstrator, I was able to preview the new annual catalog at the end of March and to my surprise and delight, the On The Ocean set is being carried over! So of course I purchased the set with my next order, and I’ve made a couple of cards that I recreated on my video this week. Several of the images are made with distINKtive stamps, so when you stamp they are already pre-shaded.

If you weren’t able to watch the live video, you can watch the replay here. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest as well for other ideas using this and other products from Stampin’Up!

FB Live Recap: Two Easy Irresistible Blooms Cards

For my video this week, I wanted to show you how easy it is to make gorgeous cards using the Irresistible Blooms bundle and coordinating Designer Series Paper. I must admit, I didn’t jump on this set the first time I saw it as I thought, “Who needs another floral set?” But I was wrong in my thinking! The dies in the bundle crop out the two sizes of flowers as well as three different sets of leaves from the Designer Paper plus extra detailed leaves and background images. This really is a handy set to have, and with being able to cut out the images from the DSP, you can quickly make cards without a lot of stamping and coloring. Of course, if you have the time and love to color, by all means, use the beautiful detailed stamps to create your floral images.
